Note #2: As silly as this looks, it isn't any dumber than what we actually do for college football.

Has anybody recently clicked on the “Cardinal” link located in the links toolbar @ the top of the page? Pretty sweet feature…excellent resource for wasting even more time during the day.

The Outsiders
Hey UL, I just took your hint and clicked on the "Cardinal" link.
A guy from Sea Of Blue details the Cal acquisition and how Cardinal fans are now afraid or resentful because of perceived future UK dominance. I don’t think a lot of people understand that we never wanted our team to personify "The Powers That Be" team. UK wants to reinvent the halcyon days, wants to be the 1927 Yankees again, brushing aside all inferior competion with the old familiar strut (two words here, "Texas Western"). They want to be US Steel. They want to be the old Montreal Canadians…the old Boston Celtics…hell, they want to be the old Kentucky Wildcats. They want life to be easy and their games to be cake walks. That’s OK. That’s definitely a good thing. But there is one thing we are that they could never be: Louisville Cardinal fans. Rain or shine. Warts and all. We don’t need a stacked deck, we don’t need to always be chalk (sorry, Mike), we don’t mind being the outsider. We like it just fine.
They can be Oreo. I’m fine with Hydrox.
They can be Secretariat. We will be Ruffian.
They can be The Beatles…we’ll be some other rock group (chose your weapon) who may not have such Main Street mass appeal, but you loved them with a full heart, even as your closest friends couldn’t understand.

The only time you’ll ever hear “Duke” and “Bowl game” in the same sentence.
