There's zero doubt in my mind that this field of celebrities is among the five worst in the history of celebrity events. If there are more than ten people in attendance who know who half of the people on that list are, I'll be amazed.

This is how it starts.

Ah, football...

My plan is to remain cluelessly optimistic. After all, if everyone is expecting only two wins, then you can’t be worse than expectations, right? Right?

Awesome

Hey Mike,
Are you this good at being a jerk all the time or is today special for you? Since so many people know your name, I guess you feel the obligation to call people out. You are right, the season is going to be a rough one and things have not gone as well as many had hoped. However, what good does your selfish antagonism do to the program but add to the complaining. Misery loves company huh?…

Zing!

This may be the first Mike-Slam I’ve ever seen on here. You can’t be serious, right? I think this site is pretty damn fair when it comes to what’s going on with the football program. How exactly do you classify Mike’s post as “selfish antagonism?” I’m pretty sure that being forced to point out the sad state of your favorite football program brings in much less web traffic than being able to celebrate awesomeness. The lack of awesomeness can’t be pinned on this blog, so get your panties out of a wad.

Oooh, better joke...

I guess we’ve finally found OJ Oleka’s CardChron ID.

dang dude

even with all the times ive been slammed on here for my wild emotional swings during basketball games, there’s no better site for louisville content than cardchronicle. if you wan selfish antagonism, try firekragthorpenow.com. my feeling is that notafan must be the holier-than-thou football supporter charlie “the observer” springer from card game, except that the comment here actually uses complete sentences (unlike most of charlie’s writing). no matter who you are, you need to open your eyes: our football team sucks. it can’t beat UK. it can’t be Uconn. it can’t beat syracuse. after 9 straight bowl seasons, we’re 2 straight without one. and the only thing more pathetic than the job that’s been done by the new coach is the way the administration and certain fans shut their eyes, ears, and noses and act like nothing’s wrong.

If only anybody would take that bet.

QBs are fair game tonight....

….so that should be fun.

Here’s what I’m looking for, although frankly I can’t imagine coming away from this with anything other than apathy/despair.

I’ve read we are dink/dunk and that both Froman and Burke are accurate but don’t have strong arms. I guess this means lots of passes to Doug B. and Pascley in space and hope they make someone miss. So, A#1 on my list is plays that result in an open WR with room to run. Seeing Doug juke the pants off the recently converted WR Jacque Caldwell will not get me that excited about either the offense OR the secondary.

The rest, in no particular order:

2) Vic Anderson to do awesome things
3) Darius Ashley to do awesome things
4) If the D-line gets pressure I fear that says more about the O-line than the D-line, where we are thin and don’t have a lot of talent as far as I can tell.
5) According to the CJ article this morning and some uoflsports.com/Pravda write-ups, Brandon Heath is now the most important person on defense. Please, please, please let Brandon Heath have learned how to cover someone going out for a pass. Because he sure as hell couldn’t do that in 2007 and 2008 or he would have been on the field more.
6) Dexter Heyman – you still there bro?
7) Chichester to act more like Featherstone from the last 5 minutes of Necessary Roughness, not the first 75 minutes.
8) Scott Long healthy and used correctly (hello there pass > 15 yards)
9) Nice weather because, frankly, isn’t that what it is all about?
10) One of the new randos in the secondary to play reasonably well

This is just so sad

It’s gonna be a long summer.

Regarding our football team, I have no optimism and I have no expectations, but I am a fan to the death.
