Derby All Stars just visited Shawn at the hospital. Too funny!
Well, my boy Shawn has been in Kosairs the last couple days due to his illness, he just has been tired a lot and dehydrated a bit, so they are keeping him in house for treatment for a bit. Today, Peyton Siva, Jon Hood and the rest of the Derby Festival All Stars stopped by his room while his mom and him were there.
Shawn called me afterward to brag and to ask if I was "jealous"...which I was! So here is how my wife told me it went. She said that initially the players were told they couldn't go in and visit Shawn, but once he heard that Louisville players were in the hallway, he would have none of that and insisted that my wife go out and talk the nurses into letting them come inside. Once inside, they were hit with a barrage of knock knock jokes and grilled about which school they were attending.
Any player that said Louisville got a big "GO CARDS!" from Shawn and a double thumbs up!! So much so that a couple players asked Shawn if they could change the school they had told him... lol. Then the UK recruit Jon Hood spoke up and said he was going to Kentucky... Shawn got real cross with him and gave him a double thumbs down and said "boo wildcats!" I couldn't be prouder!! lol. My wife said that Peyton Siva was eating it up and kept joking with Shawn the most. Too much, anyway, here is a picture:

ok, Shawn is pissing me off now
he’s getting major face time with the players
I’m majorly, like, jealous
(Justin, Shawn is a brave, strong young little guy—and you’re a great Dad)

lol, Frank
I feel the same way! But tonight at NOFS, Brandon and I were standing next to the players watching the 2 on 2 competition and Peyton Siva stopped right next to us to watch. I took advantage of it and thanked him for visiting the hospital and brightening my son’s day… to which he quickly responded “Shawn’s?”. Shawn obviously made an impression!

Awesome
Sounds like we have some good guys coming.
Sounds like you have a special son too. Can only hope he comes through the sickness with flying colors. Thinking of your family.

Thats too cool Justin
Its nice they did that for him-and he made the nurses let the fellas in. Siva really seems like a class act, he really is one of the most anticipated future cardinals for me personally in a long time. Hope your son feels better soon, always in our thoughts.

Haha, your kid dissed Jon Hood
That’s precious.
Definitely still pulling for your little guy. He needs to be strong enough when Jon breaks his heart next year. ;)
