T-Will named first team All-Big East

Very much deserved.

Additional congrats to Earl Clark (third team) and Samardo Samuels (all-rookie team).

The Big East has made the wise decision this year to downgrade the number of players honored. Six players were named to the league's first team, and the Player of the Year will come from that group.

First Team

Terrence Williams, Louisville
Luke Harangody, Notre Dame
Jerel McNeal, Marquette
DeJuan Blair, Pittsburgh
Sam Young, Pittsburgh
Hasheem Thabeet, Connecticut

Second Team

A.J. Price, Connecticut
Wesley Matthews, Marquette
Jonny Flynn, Syracuse
Dante Cunningham, Villanova
Da'Sean Butler, West Virginia

Third Team

Deonta Vaughn, Cincinnati
Jeff Adrien, Connecticut
Earl Clark, Louisville
Levance Fields, Pittsburgh
Jeremy Hazell, Seton Hall

Honorable Mention

Weyinmi Efejuku, Providence
Dominique Jones, South Florida
Scottie Reynolds, Villanova
Alex Ruoff, West Virginia

All-Rookie Team

Greg Monroe, Georgetown
Yancy Gates, Cincinnati
Samardo Samuels, Louisville
Mike Rosario, Rutgers
Kemba Walker, Connecticut
Devin Ebanks, West Virginia

the ballots for player of the year were due friday?

that doesn’t make any sense. t-will would have a much better shot at winning if it counted last night. that’s ok though, because he is the only first teamer who won the big east championship

Player of the year wil be Thabeet

I hope we get them in the finals and I hope T-Will dominates.

Since there is no thread for it I'll say it here

The UofL/Rutgers Women’s game is outstanding right now. Best women’s game I’ve watched all year albeit the only one as well.

When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome again.

Yeah, and Red,

I know she’s so tough she’s got a French poodle named “Spike,” but I’ve got a soft spot for Vivian Stringer. She’s been through a lot…cancer…the ahole Imus thing….
She seems…kind.

I'd say it'll be either Willaims, Blair, or Young.

I just don’t think they’ll give it to Thabeet, especially after the first UConn/Pitt game. I think Blair has the upper hand because of the first UConn/Pitt game.

And I Don't Think Thabeet

deserves it, either. Not much on the offensive end, and the Pittsburg sweep. On the other hand, will the Pitt boys dilute their support between themselves? Gody? I don’t think so, not again. That leaves the Marquette man and…goodness, could TWILL sneak in?
I have no idea of when the ballots were expected to be in, but if they were due any time before today, that’s just not right.
