Andre McGee

"I remember when I was back in high school I was kind of being scrutinized by everybody because I was leaving the West Coast and coming to play at the University of Louisville," said McGee, who's from Moreno Valley, Calif.

"Truly these were people who had never been to Louisville," he said, "because if they had they would know this is the greatest place in the world, especially to play basketball, and you (the fans) made it happen. I pity everyone who hasn't had a chance to play for Louisville."

He told a story about playing AAU basketball in Las Vegas while in high school and having to be hospitalized afterwards. Because of his health problems teams were backing off on their recruiting.

"Coach Pitino called me while I was in a hospital bed and said they were still recruiting me, that I was the best point guard he'd seen in that class," McGee said. "He said that he would see I got the best doctors, the best care for my condition, and he kept his word. I love you, Coach."

Terrence Williams

"I've got to thank Rick Pitino," Williams said. "It's like this is my job. He's employed me for four years, and now he's kicking me out. He's been the greatest male figure in my life, and he's made my future bright."

"This is not goodbye, this is hello," Williams told the crowd after the game. "It's not over. I still want to win a couple of championships.

"I'm not guaranteeing anything, but this team will play its heart out to get to Detroit (site of this year's Final Four), and I want to see everyone there."

And finally, a T-Will-ism:

"I could say this is a dream come true, but I never dreamed this. It's unreal, but it's reality."
