On Kuric's dunk in the final seconds:
"I want to apologize for us dunking the ball at the end of the game," Pitino said when he arrived at the podium after the win. "Exuberance, the guy's never playing, wanting to score in the NCAA Tournament. We do want to apologize."
So I hate to admit it, but I cringed when Kuric went up for that dunk at the end. Glad to see Pitino and T-Will showing some class in apologizing, but it's unfortunate it ever had to happen. That being said, I think deep down I'm glad he got the points...
Also, in reference to the Cards' free-throw shooting woes of the past:
On a night when the University of Louisville basketball team looked invincible, the Cardinals even masked what has been their Achilles' heel in a 103-64 win over Arizona last night.
Maybe I'm just wearing my heart on my sleeve, but why does it sound like the CJ thinks our awesome free throw shooting last night was a fluke? I suppose specifically I take beef with their use of the word "masking", as if we were trying to hide something. With exception granted to the final score, the stat I was happiest about was our free throw numbers, and I refuse to believe for a second that the enormous improvement is due to anything but hard work. Even in praise, the CJ manages to throw in a little left jab. Bastards.
