Bobby and Beer Review
Bobby went to Binghamton High…no, I’m not braggin’. I’m not a native, so I’m not hidin’ it, either.
Saranac “High Peaks Series” Imperial Stout. This beer was NOT a musical comedy. Nine percent alcohol, which I believe is 18 proof, or about twice the whoop as the standard libation. Dark. Heavy. Brooding. And like a lot of stout’s (you’re right, Twist) the Saranac Imperial is so substantial that it should be served with silverware and a white cloth napkin. If this grog were a movie, it would be an Ingmar Bergman film. Complete with subtitles.
Would I recommend it? I don’t know, I just don’t know.
I tried a couple high ABV brews as well
over the weekend. “Sierra Nevada BigFoot” 9.6% (highly recommend) and Dogfish head “Raison de etre” 8%(very strong taste, almost too much for me).
