It's Providence or Depaul

Louisville will face either Providence or Depaul at noon on Thursday after the Blue Demons, they of winless Big East regular seasons, stunned ninth-seeded Cincinnati 67-57 in the opening game of the Big East Tournament.

Dar Tucker and Will Walker led the Demons with 17 points, while Cincinnati stars Deonta Vaughn and Yancy Gates went a combined 9-of-32 from the field.

The upset is sort of bittersweet for Providence, which might have been able to lock down an at-large bid with a win over Cincinnati, but which now probably has to beat Louisville after a virtually meaningless win over Depaul to feel good about its chances on Sunday.

The madness is upon us.

If they won the national championship

by reeling off ten wins in a row, they’d still be four games under .500. I wonder who they’d get to play Jerry Wainwright in the 2019 film on Depaul’s miracle run? Jerry Stiller?
