Notre Dame is a 10 seed… the Big East is crazy. I hope we don’t play them

here here

I drew it up last week and it looked the same, I really thought things would have moved by now. We really need not to play ND in our first game.

Win out

and hope Pitt finishes their season undefeated at home by taking out UConn in the last game. Then we get UConn’s position in that bracket, which is a much easier trip to the BET Finals. Much better matchups for the Cards. We don’t want any part of ND in the first game. Yikes.

while generally I agree with you in that ND has created problems for us this year, this would be their third game in three days, and we should be able to wear them down

Notre Freakin Dame

That’s the first thing I looked for…and there it was, in our bracket.

Notre Dame....

playing their 3rd game in 3 nights…against our deeper bench playing their first game….plus the chip on our soulders after the embarrassment we had in South Bend… I would have to say, I wouldn’t mind it THAT much.

I'm more worried

about the potential back to back games against Pitt and UConn. Pitt is our achilles heel in the BET. That’s why the 1 seed is so important. Go Pitt, beat UConn.

ND/Syracuse

I ran a few scenarios and it looks like barring any weird upsets, that is our first round matchup if UConn beats Pitt and UofL gets the #2 seed. IMO, Syracuse is the best of the #5-8s and ND is the best of the #9-12s. Sounds like worst case scenario to me…just like last year when there was nothing worse than drawing Pitt first round.

Bottom line is that we REALLY need UConn to lose next weekend. If we win the regular season, stay out of harms way in the BE tourney and knock of a Pitt/UConn winner in the finals, I don’t see how they keep us off the 1 seed line.

Bring 'em on...

I couldn’t disagree more with the thoughts of not taking Notre Dame on. Screw ’em. I say we take them on and kick their butts all the way back to Podunk, Indiana. I want some Irish stew to wash out the taste of that whopping they gave us in South Bend.

Pool

Anybody want to have a tournament pool for the BET?

The best path...

is Pitt’s, at least to get out of the first round. I’ll take SH/Provy/South Florida over what any of the other three deal with. Really look at 5-8 and compare to other conf. tourneys. It’s crazy. You’re talking Nova/MU just to get into the semi’s. i thought it was a lot of lipservice earlier in the season, but this tourney might be harder to win that the big one, for much less cool hardware. Maybe we’re lucky that our annual ticket puncher will be waiting for us in the semi’s if it started today.
