Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

I concur with Mr. Bozich.

Word is percolating that University of Louisville football coach Steve Kragthorpe will announce his shuffled staff Monday afternoon. Here is the safest prediction of the day:

Assistant head coach and offensive coordinator Jeff Brohm will become the sixth coach to exit the Cardinals' program since the completion of the 5-7 season. He'll also be the fifth coordinator to leave during Kragthorpe's two-plus seasons.

No matter how U of L spins this one, it's not encouraging news. Brohm is a bright, engaging and imaginative guy whose career flourished under former Cards coach Bobby Petrino.

His sweat equity in the program is considerable. The decision Jeff made to decline offers from Notre Dame, Southern California, Kentucky and others to play for Howard Schnellenberger at U of L when he was a Trinity senior two decades ago delivered a powerful message about the aspirations of the Cards' program.

What I don't want to hear is Brohm being made the latest scapegoat for the struggles of the program.

First it was former defensive coordinator Mike Cassity. Then Petrino. Now Brohm? At this rate, U of L runs the risk of having more scapegoats than victories next season.

Krag, Krag, he's our man!

I disagree. Clearly Krag is not the problem. Tom Jurich swears he’s a great coach. Since that’s the case, the fault lies with the four defensive coordinators he’s had in two years. It also lies with the three offensive coordinators he will have had in two years. It’s also the fault of the entire defensive staff Krag fired after the 2007 season. Let’s not forget the players either. Many of them cut and ran. Rather than win the right way, they chose to win the wrong way at other schools. If Krag is guily of anything, it’s surrounding himself with such traitors. Thank goodness Krag is doing the cleaning up.

If Brohm was responsible for last year’s offense, he needs to be gone. Not that this is breaking news or anything like that. He was fired about four weeks ago.

I agree

We don’t know what happens on the side lines . Time will tell.

We do know that

we went from an Orange Bowl team to a team that has failed to go bowling two seasons straight (not to mention our bowling streak was way before Petrino, so blaming him seems irrelevant).

Well, if the team is still crap

Stevie has eliminated everyone else around him-so the blame cant be shifted elsewhere anymore. Youre officially in the spotlight now, Captain.
