Seedings and match-ups

…we all wanted to be in Duke/Tennessee/Memphis’s bracket.

This season I think the consensus is that we want to be in OK’s or Memphis’s. I want to avoid UNC and UConn, and I think it is a VERY unlikely string of events that leads to us being the #2 seed in Pitt’s region.

Obv our best case is the #2 seed in Indy against Memphis, with the #2 seed in Memphis against OK a close second. But I’m afraid that is not how it is going to work out. My biggest fear is that UNC gets the #1 in Indy – because where else are they going to go? UConn gets Boston, OK gets Memphis, and Pitt/Memphis get out west.

I guess it is possible UNC gets the South even though Memphis is farther from Chapel Hill than Indy is (look it up!), and maybe somehow UConn gets sent out west even though Boston seems like a lock for them.

I guess we want OK to lose another game or 2 and get the 2 in Memphis with UNC as the 1 there, and Memphis gets the 1 in Indy with UConn and Pitt as the other 1s. I think that’s the most likely way we end up in Indy.

Although the 2 seed in the south with OK would be good too – memphis is a bit of a drive but one we are familiar with, and at least the game would be indoors.

Recruiting update

http://www.indystar.com/article/20090227/SPORTS0209/902270370/1057/SPORTS02

Marquis Teague was wearing a UL sweatshirt the other night – that’s gotta be a good sign. Rumors on ITV said he was going to commit to us after his team’s season was over.

Would be a big-time get I think.

U of L Women on ABC – anybody know if the Oklahoma game is going to be aired and if so, where? I saw where Blake was cleared to play – love that kid.

soooooooooooo glad Oklahoma ......

won tonight….I hope they get TEXAS again in the Big 12 tournament…..I ‘d love to see them get another shot at them. Anybody know how long Blake was in the game??? Couldn’t see it – just saw the score but they didn’t show how many points Blake got…I think his brother got 20 something.

Check the box score on ESPN?

They’ll have all that info.

To be honest, I was hoping Oklahoma would lose. I really hate them. Completely overrated. They can’t even win games against mediocre Big 12 teams without BG, and they barely beat bad Big 12 games with him. What I hate most is that despite losing two games in a row, they’ll probably still be ranked ahead of us this week.

I always want them to win....

NOT because of any love I have for the team but I do love Blake Griffin and ALWAYS want him to win. To CardG6 – I would hate it if they were ranked ahead of us but we sure smelled it up the first half of today’s game……….
