Smith, Knowles and Siva all out for Charlotte game
Jerry apparently suffered an achilles sprain. Also, George Goode will make his first career start.

More in a bit.

Is it April 1st?
This can’t be right. Did I read that headline right? Someone tell me I’m waking up from a bad dream….

consolation
Console yourself by repeating as long as it is necessary the following:
We’re getting a new football coach. We’re getting a new football coach.
We’re getting a new football coach. We’re getting a new football coach.
We’re getting a new football coach. We’re getting a new football coach.
We’re getting a new football coach. We’re getting a new football coach.
We’re getting a new football coach. We’re getting a new football coach.
Better to have them
out now for the weaker part of our schedule, than later, for UK and Big East play. Get well soon guys (before Jan 2)!

ugh
The vibes just not good for this team right now. I know it’s December, and I don’t relish being a turd bucket, but…
1) TJ and SS have all the talent in the world, and there’s no doubt a myles or a whitehead would be getting the majority of the minutes at the 5 on this team right now given how they’re playing. Not Good.
2) For the first time since (gulp) the NIT team, there’s not a defacto go to guy on this team. Sosa might be that guy, Jerry might be that guy, but neither are there yet, and as much of a cliche as it is, you need that guy, maybe even two of them.
3) Injuries and lineup disruptions aren’t a huge deal for some teams, but we’re young and having two starters and the one freshman (maybe buckles too) you want to see get huge developmental minutes being out isn’t good. Our first 5 need this time to gel and I’d prefer Siva cut his teeth against the S Hat’s on our schedule and not the cuses and UCONN’s.
4) I am clearly on my man period, and bad UL news coupled with a three week old non sleeping baby is ensuring a heavy flow day.
Congratulation on the baby
Everything is going to be OK. I promise. Allow me let you in on my secret to how I process news like this in order to avoid the whole “man period” thing.
I assume that Pitino going into mad scientist mode. You see Siva, Smith, and Knowles aren’t really that hurt and could play through it if they had too, but Pitino knows that the key to success this season is Sosa, and he feels that this fabricated scenario will force Sosa to truly grasp the leadership role and reach that maturity epiphany that we’ve all seen him creap closer towards this year. So, because we have a coach that’s that ingenious, I think this is actually great news.

I completely agree with you on all these points.
I think the most important of these is #2. I believe there is a big difference though between the NIT team and this team. The guy that should have been the go-to guy was Taquan Dean and I don’t think he wanted that. He was content to be, and thrived as, the second fiddle, the Robin to Cisco’s Batman. Edgar Sosa undoubtedly wants to be the guy. He has the swagger and bravado it takes to be that guy. The problem will be whether or not he realizes Superman can’t do it alone and needs the help of the Super Friends.

SS needs to get put through
marine corps training.
Need to toughen him up, all over.

we'll be ok
Kuric, Delk and Marra can all play the two spot if necessary, swop can pull some minutes at the three, van treese/goode can play some at the four. Sosa will have to play 30+ minutes at the point, but he can do that.
Actually this might make for a really good zone defense, if you put buckles at the four, swop at the 3, delk/kuric/marra at the two. That’s a lot of length.
George Goode a starter?
As I recall, someone from Centre once had an oppinion on Goode that differed with someone else from Centre. I don’t recall how that turned out, though.
If George is going to prove me wrong
Here’s his shining moment. I hope he proves me wrong.
coaches
I know this is going to sound nuts but it’s a good thing Denny isn’t coaching. For reasons that can only be explained in some alternative universe Lutz had a great record against Denny. It was like playing an away game in The Twilight Zone.
Anyone know the camera policy for Freedom Hall?
"This season has been everything most of us feared it would be[.]"

I've brought cameras into the Hall several times
but I’ve always brought point and shoot type cameras that fit in pockets…

I decided against bringing it and when I got there they had sign on the ramps that said no cameras. I was just frustrated I couldn’t find anything on Louisville’s or Freedom Halls website.
One baseball game, he came to the plate and heard a woman in the crowd shout to the pitcher, "I'll make you a chocolate cake if you strike out that 'so-and-so'!" Says Strong: "I hit that ball out of the park. Then I looked at her like, 'Do I get a cake now?' "
