Around SBN: Interview With UMD Athletic Director, Dr. Debbie Yow

ESPN the Magazine

Is there a reason Louisville is NOT ranked in the top 64 teams in the latest college bball mag i got today. Is there any possible reason Indiana, Nevada, UTEP, LASALLE, Houston, No. Iowa and everybody else they ranked ahead of us are real? This has to be a typo. But if it was, why are there 64 teams listed? I'm just sayin. Others-San Diego St., Tulsa, ARIZONA, NORTHWESTERN, Sienna.?????????????????Somebody please explain.

Well the fact that the pick 64 means they are picking the tournament field

The top 64 teams talentwise don’t make the tournament, most of those bids deal with conf. tie ins. However, our lack of inclusion implies that ESPN doesn’t think we will make the tournament.

Honestly I don’t blame them. I haven’t seen anything that makes us a top 25 team yet. Not saying we won’t be there, but we have a shit ton of question marks (e.g. rebound, passing, defense). Really, the only thing we know about this team is that Samardo can dunk and that we have mult. 3 pt. shooters who can make shots but don’t always do such.

There’s a lot to be proven about this season, that’s all I am saying. I hope we turn out to be a good basketball team. But the memories of the 2006 season linger for the the 2009-2010 team.

I read it four times

Drank another cup of coffee and read it again. I was shocked, too, and my pride was a little insulted. However, Louisville playing form the undrdog possition is a formula that has worked in the past. Humble and hungry is where this team needs to be.
