Former Cards selected in D-League Draft
Former Louisville great Reece Gaines was selected by the Bakersfield Jam with the 13th pick in the second round of tonight's NBA Developmental League draft. In the 2003 NBA Draft, Gaines was selected by the Orlando Magic with the 15th overall pick. I'm guessing this is a rare feat.
Perrin (PERRIN!) Johnson also heard his name called when the Springfield Armor took him in the sixth round.
Best of luck to both in their continued efforts to make money playing a game.
And now, because I can...

The super smart people draft is next week
Wow, that was bad. I’d try harder but it’s Friday.

Still perhaps the most amazing ending I have ever seen
particularly since it was so unexpected since we had gone 0-12 on 3’s up to then.
I remember after the 3rd 3, I was instinctively jumping up and down and grabbing and hugging my friend next to me—two 200+ lb professional businessmen in their late 40’s jumping up and down like kids, screaming while the Hall rocked ….
I’ve never done that before or since…

Not even Sosa’s shot heard ’round the state?

no, sarasota... although Sosa and other great last-sec comebacks of the past stick easily in
my mind, they were mainly with better talent
The Tn game win was just so unexpected …
mind u, i have jumped up and down before and high fived—like at Sosa’s
But i’ve never grabbed a 200 lb guy instinctively and thru sheer adrenaline, lifted him and me up and down, while jumping
nope

Isn't anybody surprised that Perrin Johnson is still playing basketball in any sort of professional capacity?
Becuase I am

I am as well
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t really remember him being all that good.

I'm surprised Otis George isn't in the D-League
though he’s probably making more money overseas. Still think he has/had loads of potential. Lots of physical talent and very little basketball knowledge. He came close to making an NBA team one year — the Knicks, I think, which is almost like a real NBA team. I also think people are missing the boat on Taquan Dean.

Perrin
I saw Perrin Johnson at the new Molly Malones last Friday night. It took this post for me to remember his name.
