Three years ago today...
Because of the massive amount of preseason and in-season hype, Nov. 2 will always be one of those dates that just sticks with me.

There isn't a Cardinal fan who doesn't remember how anxious and excited they were during the day and then how fantastic they felt that night. A truly amazing 24 hours.

Definitely one of my top college memories
We thought we were going to be in the National Championship game.
My view from the middle of the madness.

Remember when we were upset with Petrino
over the failure to change O-line blocking schemes during the Rutgers game? (And Oh, how we long to have that kind of thing to complain about now.)
Remember when we were legitimately part of the nation’s top five?
Remember when there was debate, real debate, about putting the Cards in the championship game?
It seems as if it all happened an eternity ago, but it didn’t. It was just pre-Kragthorpe. It was before all this “bad-applies” nonsense he’s offered since the day he arrived.
Please, someone make this be over.

The Black-Out Game --one of my top moments EVER
what an incredible build-up, atmosphere, and success
Followed if you remember
by the equally mind-blowing White-out Game just months later with Pitino’s white suit, David Padgett and the win over #5 (?) Georgetwon—another of the top moments in Card history
Two of the greatest moments —just months apart
God—THAT was Card Paradise.
Now , Paradise Lost…..
Simply put, the best moment in the history of Louisville football. I remember just soaking in the atmosphere after we scored our final touchdown. During the timeout before the kickoff, the crowd was cheering as loud as it did after the score. We arrived on the scene that night. It was short lived, but we arrived.
I agree with Wacker.
The WVU was the absolute tops. The week (or more) of build up to the game as the first part of a "Final Four" for entry into the BCS championship game made this one something special from start to finish, and then a while afterwards. Of course, we’re debating the difference between Cristal and Dom Perignon. They are both quite fine.
I remember how great that felt, but then...

I’ve never been so heartbroken over a football game. To think that this was such a crushing moment back then…I’m so numb now, it’s sad.
Best games I attended
@ Miami – afterwards I felt like I had played, I was so washed out (might have been the 5th of Stag we drank the night before, best tasting lighter fluid I ever had)
FSU in the rain

Remember that night well...
The wife and I flew to Lexington to stay with her parents in Winchester for a long weekend trip to the Commonwealth. Got off the plane, got the rental car and immediately turned radio to the game. Was able to catch most of first half at her folks house and second half at my mom’s house. What a way to start the weekend in Kentucky. Then headed to Breeders’ Cup on Saturday in Louisville topped by an amazing dinner at Jack Fry’s. Couldn’t ask for a better trip home. Hopefully next year when the Breeders’ Cup is back and UofL has a new coach I can try to replicate some of that magic.
I can’t believe that was only three years ago.

Guy still has fumble problems. Got benched this week by Houston because of it.
Fabulous moment!
