ESPN apologizes to Louisville
Here's the statement that will run in the next issue of ESPN The Magazine:
ONE WE FORGOT : One, two, 19, 48. Who's counting? Not us. In debating how far Louisville would fall in our college basketball rankings (Split Takes, Nov. 16), we inadvertently let the reigning Big East champs slip away altogether. (We meant to sit them at 26.) We regret the omission but blame it on the Cards' (and their coach's) under-the-radar summer.
We better get a BCS bowl or something out of this.

If you're going to apologize, at least try to be sincere
And don’t slip in Rick Pitino zingers

Talk about a cover jinx.
August 2007, before Kragthorpe ever got a chance to show his stuff, those evil bastards at that crappy magazine went and jinxed our entire football program. Sorry, Steve. Now I realize who’s to blame for this debacle.

Anyone catch the EPSN College Basketball Preview yesterday?
I watched the first 45 minutes or so and the only real mention of Louisville was that we were going to play Kentucky. Talk about getting the shaft. Unless I missed something. Might be a great place to be right now, every under the radar. ESPN hates Louisville Basketball.

I wouldn't say ESPN hates L'ville Basketball...
But they do have obvious, unapologetic crushes on certain teams. Let’s not get all He Hate Me Raider fan in here with ESPN bias accusations. They’ve covered plenty of L’ville games in the past couple years and the Bristol announcers always mention how L’ville is such a great basketball town, Freedom Hall is the shit, etc…

ESPN
is such a massive thing you’d think it would be a bit more of a well oiled machine. They don’t hate Louisville they just love the latest, most over the top hype and bang you over the head with it. That was us in March. Now it’s UK. Next it will be the UNC/Duke game (yawn), then…. They are a media company and whore out anything they think Joe Sports Dork will buy.
