What a scary thought on Halloween - Kragthorpe at the helm.
It’s a shame we are just a ghost of the previous program. Our spirit has been hacked and slashed. Goblins and dark things inhabit the deep recesses of our collective Football soul. And besides that the Coach sucks.
By the way: Really cool pumpkin.
Happy Halloween and Go Cards
can i get the
stencil or pattern you used for pumpkin?

Mike I agree with your prediction
2 or fewer fumbled snaps would be a win, whats the odds though we hand it off to the other team?

just heard..
Krags just called a timeout in the locker room…
by itsALLintheCARDS on Oct 31, 2009 3:10 PM EDT reply actions
No
He didn’t get it called in time. Five yards, delay of game.
Sideline interference.
Which I’ve aince learned means that someone on the sideline probably knocked over a ref.
by CARD_G6 on Oct 31, 2009 3:19 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
must have been an offensive player......
……because our defensvie guys don’t seem to be able to knock people over.
ya think..
Krag did his nails before the game today?

geez this picture on TV is terrible
stands look half empty. won’t be able to see whether anyone’s bagging Krag as bad as the picture is.
Ya...
…let’s play a field position game…with Arkansas State.
Just all around terribleness, every part of Cardinal football.
The players still are playing hard, though. Appreciate that.
Patrick returning kicks
That’s a bad idea. Seriously, we can’t find another fast guy? Maybe instead of our only decent guy in the secondary?
Bilal Powell looking good...
Might it have something to do with the fact we’re playing Arkansas State and not Cincinnati?
Powell has always looked good in space
something we can’t find against Top 66 teams.

Timeout... shocked.
Stein obviously had no idea what terrible play Krags was calling. He looked down at his arm like “Is he seriously calling THAT play? What a tool. Timeout.”
i think our plays
are in a different language, anything to make it harder on our guys

No costumes seen— no Bag Krag bags yet…

That's not good...
…Powell heading to the locker room.
Blayne Donnell, come on down. Please don’t put Vic in or give Ashley 35 carries.
Injuries are part of the game, but its not like we keep having guys go down with broken ankles or whatever. Nagging injuries, being banged up, strains, sprains, etc. are all signs of overuse, bad conditioning, etc.
nice crowd
What is there 15,000 there?
Good reason to keep Coach K around-he will really fill those 55,000 next year.
Can he blame injuries for needless time outs and senseless penalties? Seems to be the excuse for everything.

oh yeah
I forgot that convenient excuse too. ‘I didn’t do it’-Bart Simpson I mean Coach K

…Gnat goes over to the sideline, Krag is yelling at him, he tries to slip into the sidelines, Delgado physically brings him back to be yelled at by Krag.

Kroger commercial....
…NOT Krag.
I guess they went ahead and ran all those so they don’t have to anymore.
Stands look a little more full than they did earlier. Wonder how they will look after halftime.
Maybe it will be like when
I was in school in the early/mid 90s. We drank as much as possible before we went in and sometimes it took us a couple of quarters to get good and liquored up to see what we were facing inside the ol’ Cardinal Stadium

If you could add "+5 inches"
I’d be moderately excited about what he could do under a good coach and against a decent team.
"You don't have to be the tallest guy in the huddle to be the biggest man in the huddle."
I think Krags took this guy’s “How to speak at press conferences 101” class.
My girlfriend is a casual UofL fan, but doesn't pay too much attention
She just looked up and said, “Wait, everybody except Scott Long is injured? What is going on this year?”
once again
we don’t line up properly and get a penalty. you’d think this far in the season the players would have a clue. but then again Krap is the coach.
COME ON!
SECOND HALF IS OURS!
LET’S DO THIS!!!
by Mike Rutherford on Oct 31, 2009 5:04 PM EDT reply actions
Krag
Managed to screw up first and goal from the 2 with 17 seconds left. No score, Ark St. defense gains confidence, offense deflates a little.
Unreal.
What an idiot
If we lose by one or two this decision will be the reason (along with the rest of Koach Kevorkian’s coaching).
Ok-- that was a truly Kragtastic call
that killed our momentum going into halftime.
Could come back and bit him in the ass…
by frankpos on Oct 31, 2009 5:06 PM EDT via mobile reply actions
In all fairness, Stein was really pushing to go for it.
But in even more fairness, sometimes the coach should just say “STFU, I’m the coach.”
just add it to the list
just another great decision from the book of kragology

How sad...
We’re actually playing a somewhat decent game (well, we’re winning handily in a game that was supposed to be close), and there’s nobody there to see.
See Krag, this is what happens when you continuously cry wolf.
Why does everybody complain about the whole FBS/FCS vs Div1/Div2 thing?
Am I the only one that thinks it’s easier to say FBS/FCS?
Maybe everyone over the past 3 years cn apply for a hardship extra year of eligibility.

20 yard FGs are a waste
If you’re that close, why not take a chance? If we can’t score from that close against something called Arkansas State . . . . Oh yeah. Sigh.
I do think we caught a break there. Why take a 21 yard FG when you need 11? Means you gotta drive all the way down again rather than just get to the 30. What do they have to lose?
With a win like this
over a quality opponent, surely we can retire the fire Krag mantra, right?
Go Cards!
Gotta love cable TV
Can’t watch us on TV (finally got ESPN360 working though; beats staying in the car listing to XM), but Cal Poly vs. North Dakota is on.

Red Stag should use Krag, not Kid Rock
Kragthorpe is a great marketing force for the Bourbon industry… the more games he coaches… the more glasses downed…
12 men on the field
Unbelievable. No, actually upon further review it’s completely logical and predictable.

This is awful to say as as Cards fan.
But god, I almost want us to lose. Anything to remove the possibility of Krag returning
he just needs
another 4 years to get his players and system in place. Give the guy a break. It’s not his fault (injuries, Petrino, his dad getting a delay of game penalty, etc.)

I just exhaled
But it sounded like no response in the stadium. Fitting.
relieved but
I’m glad we won but there is still that nagging thought that if we had lost it would have been VanHelsing’s silver bullet fired into the heart of the Krag vampire.
When watching Oregon-USC tonight remember
Oregon was once Kragthorped, too. Daddy Dave directed them to a 17-48-2 record, 1-10 in their Kragtastic final year (this is that great pedigree we hear about all the time). A program can recover.
You're right
Brain fried from eating the candy. So, when we come back we’ll be in the middle of the pack. And it will take 20 years. I feel better.
To be fair, Oregon State sucked for a long time before that
Dave led them to back-to-back 4 win seasons in 88-89. Doesn’t sound like much, but those were the most wins in a year since 71. They did not have a winning season between 1971-98.
Oregon sucked before Brooks
Bellotti succeeded him.
