It Has Come To This
Third string, walk-on Freshman QB starting at home in the pouring rain against a crappy, non-BCS opponent, our last reasonable chance at a win this season, on Halloween afternoon in front of the smallest crowd at PJCS possibly ever.

If will stein starts, I'm going to fucking throw up
No offense intended if you’re out there Will, but this is major conference college football. This is like if Pitino started a center who was 6’4 and a good post player in Trinity but clearly is not suited to play at this level. The kid is just going to be overmatched. Jeff Adams is 6’8. Will Stein is 5’10. He won’t be able to see over the line.
And the longer Krag refuses to play Stoudt makes me like Stoudt more because it means that he refuses to conform to Kragthorpe’s shitty standards. Even if that’s not the case, I like to think of Stoudt as a Cool Hand Luke type character. And if you KNOW that’s not the case, then please be kind and don’t tell me. Living that delusion is better than coming to grips with what’s going on.
Agreed
Not giving Stoudt a chance whatsoever makes zero sense….then again when has Krags made any?

My. God.
That said, I hope he tosses for 400.

point spread
OK, we are playing the fifth rated team in a below mid major conference. The point spread is now 2 1/2. Generally the home field counts for at least 3 points. This means we would be the underdog on a neutral field.
Yet another gift from the truly special Steven “I am so special” Kragthorpe.
No offense to Stein with this but...
…
Stein being the starting QB is the rough equivalent in my mind to putting Lee Steiden in the starting five on last year’s basketball team.
That all being said, this should make Bagging Krag tomorrow much more acceptable and exciting

That isn't a rough equivalent
It’s very accurate. Here’s an even more accurate one. It would be like Siva seeing the bench all year, and if Sosa struggled and needed to be replaced, Pitino would go with Steiden over Siva. That is the equivalent if this truly happens with Stein over Stoudt. Of course, Pitino is not only a great coach, but is actually qualified to coach a team. Kragthorpe is not.
K's throwin BS at us and Ark State
Froman will be in there. He’s just being his normal Kraggalicious self and trying to throw off the other team.
I’ll still show up to the game, but only to root for another Sam Swope punt, pass, and kick car-winning victory. Put that kid in at QB/punter/kicker/coach.

May Cambroni Cardinals be a reliable source from now on. It wasn’t a guess either

I’m not so upset about Stein or Stoudt starting. What little I saw of Stein last Saturday was semi-encouraging. He looked like a real QB and he could actually throw the ball down the field with a tight spiral. Our previous two couldn’t do that.
Who care who the QB is at this point. Steve is dead man walking and the team sucks.
todd reesing at kansas is 5'10"...ish
i’m curiously optimistic about stein starting. he seemed like the only decisive qb we had against UC.
Un. Be. Lievable
Not only has kragthorpe torpedoed this program unlike any coach has done to any program in the history of organized sports, but now it seems torpedoing it just isn’t enough. He has to stay around afterward, get stupid drunk, and piss all over the wreckage. Starting a 5 foot nothin’ walk on with no way of seeing over the line instead of your elite top 20 QB recruit with pro size and a pro arm. Yep. That makes sense. Oh well. Good luck wherever you go, Zach. I’m sure you’ll flourish at a nice Big 10 or SEC school and end up at least a 3rd round draft pick. Even better, if Kragthorpe is somehow still here by the time you’re one year sit out is done, I would love to see you transfer to a Big East school and just humiliate him. No offense to Stein, he should be psyched and I happy he gets to enjoy this, but this headcoach has made me completely stop caring about UofL football. Stoudt should have started week 1. Not a short term JUCO solution or not an ACC transfer that forced what should have been our starter, Matt Simms, out to greener pastures (yes, JUCO is a better place to play right now than UofL). A horse with half a brain could figure out in a rebuilding year, you go with your players with the most to gain. Not JUCOs, not transfers, and certainly not short walk ons. Good luck to Zach and I hope he gets out of this hell hole that Kragthorpe created and Jurich allowed him to keep doing so.
I like it
Who represents the underdog, we-got-something-to-prove, world-against-us Cardinal football team better than Stein? I may be the only one here who think this but I think Stein gives us the best chance to win. I originally thought that announcing this move on Thursday/Friday would help draw more fans to actually attend the game on Halloween. But I didn’t realize how many fans were hung up on Stoudt.
So Stoudt hasn’t conformed to learning the playbook or perhaps hasn’t lived up to Kragthorpe’s cryptic standards in some way. I don’t really care at this point. Stein looked great in mop-up duty last week and we have nothing to lose so why not let the local kid go out and prove himself?
Feel free to tell me I’m an idiot on Saturday afternoon when he throws 3 picks and hits multiple O-Lineman in the back of the helmet with passes.

not sure that Burke or Froman would've done any better/worse
but it was a refreshing change of pace nonetheless
