Samardo, Swop lead Red Team to victory in scrimmage
Reading this was the most pleasant sports experience I've had in quite some time.
Jared Swopshire scored 28 points while Samardo Samuels added 26 and snagged 14 rebounds to lead the Red Team to a 103-94 victory in an intrasquad scrimmage Thursday night.
The White Team's Preston Knowles (PRESTON. KNOWLES.) hit 9-of-11 shots in the first half and finished with a game-high 32 points.
"I think offensively, we're way ahead of schedule, and defensively we're way behind schedule," said U of L Coach Rick Pitino. "Offensively, we shoot the ball terrific, we pass the ball terrific, and we're in great condition for this time of year. It's to be expected that we're behind defensively because we lost three great defensive players from last year. I'm a little surprised how well our freshman are in condition and able to get through it. I'm real happy with the guys. I'm having a lot of fun coaching them because of their incredible desire to work. They're all basketball junkies."
Jerry Smith missd the scrimmage to witness the birth of his first child.

Apolligies for posting this here, but where are the all the writeups on elvis dumervil, the man is,in everyones opinion the defensive player of the year so far and i think he is the nfl mvp so far. he leads the nfl in sacks with 10 and is pretty much unblockable.,,,,,The broncos are on a bye this week so it would be the perfect time to post numerous articles giving him the props that he deserves,,,,,just sayin’.
CARDS RULE!!BRONCOS RULE!!GO LAKERS!!!

So true
I’d love to do something extensive on Elvis, Kerry Rhodes, William Gay and the other Cards performing well in the league, but the truth is I’m having a hard enough time getting things out about the guys wearing Louisville on their chests right now.

Dumervil is a huge NFL surprise to anyone who is not a Louisville fan
he represents the good times at Louisville…seems like everyone here is adjusted to losing and any link or recollection to the good ol’ days is another stomach punch.

Crawford said starting line up looks like:
Sosa, Smith, Swop, Samardo and S’Delk. He also said the team can shoot, but has a way to go on d. From judging by the box score, he is correct. I’m excited for Mike Marra taking 15 3’s against Georgetown

Marra will be the swing factor this season
We’ve not had a deep threat like Marra for years. If he lives up to the billing, we’ll go a lot further than any of the media is talking about right now.

Ummm Can we also discuss how
Sosa had 8 assists and Siva had 9 assists. I’m a giddy little boy
by MU2D on Oct 23, 2009 10:06 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Sure
But then we’d also have to discuss how Sosa had seven turnovers and Siva had eight.
by Mike Rutherford on Oct 23, 2009 10:25 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Only six shots from Sosa
I love it.

we dont have to. we can just pretend right?
but if we must, at least they had more assists than points.

thanks for the info mike
Sivas shooting stats weren’t great. But that only makes him look more like a true point.

I'm hoping Pitino gave him the green light beforehand
I know he’s good, but a kid who only looks to shoot is not a good thing

Pitino stopped play at one point i hear, when Marra DIDN'T take an open shot
and told him that he didn’t recruit him for his D….

Come on Mike.
Only 5 minutes scanning the stats. I know that time stood still while I basked in the glow of Basketball Statistics. Had to at least be a couple of days (or is that daze).
Now that BB is back, I can get the F off my back (F as in Football).
Thanks for posting the stats.
