Around SBN: Sean Keeley's Week 12 College Football Buffet

Well at least we know now. Sounds like Swop will start the 4, and I assume be backed up by Buckles. Although an article a few weeks ago sounds like Goode will play the 4 this year.

I give it until December 11th before a) fans short grace period on Swop ends and b) hundreds of "why aren't Jennings and SS playing together?!?" comments on CardChron, ITV, etc.

Swop

Not to say that I don’t think Swop will do well at the 4. But he’s not Earl Clark and I don’t know how much of a chance fans are going to give him considering the feedback he was getting at the end of last year.

He and Delk are sorta in the same spot – they played limited minutes behind lottery picks last year, and because they were in for such short spurts, when they made a mistake it was all people saw.

Yikes.

I suppose that makes some sense, but it makes the loss of Clark loom that much larger.

I like Swop

But if this doesn’t work out, I would assume it’s because of his rebounding (or lack thereof).

Let's not panic.

The recent C-J article about Swop indicated that he was practically living in the gym all summer, working on his game and building strength. He seems like a great young man with a strong work ethic. I’m hoping that he surprises us all with how far he’s come. Rick obviously thinks that Swop has what it takes. In Rick I trust.

Here's a stupid thought

Any chance Jennings has lost his starting spot as part of his unannounced punishment for the arrest?

If he does play off the bench with Samuels that will make my stupid thought less stupid.

Swop will do fine

I’m with Jonesy here. If Rick thinks Swop is ready to start, I’m sure he won’t disappoint. We just can’t expect Clark-esque play from first tip. I really doubt this is Jennings punishment. Perhaps Rick is worried about SS’s foul situation and wants to have a fresh 5 spot like Jennings to step in if it’s a problem early. SS seemed to be really spurty with his fouling habits last season.
