Tony Pike out vs. Louisville
Cincinnati QB Tony Pike has already been ruled out of next Saturdays game against Louisville, according to Brian Kelly. Since he is the coach, he should know. Zach Collaros, who entered during the second drive of the 3rd quarter, was 4/7 for 72 yards and 1 int against South Florida. More importantly, Collaros ran for 132 yards and both of Cincinnati's second half touchdowns. A few preliminary scouting reports I read off twitter said he was "the white UT Vince Young." And "a right handed Tim Tebow." And passed "like '08 Sam Bradford." Even with such high praise, Kelly won't decide on starting Collaros or Chazz Anderson until later in the week.

After all we've done
I wouldn’t blame the Big East for kicking us out if we actually beat Cincy and ruined their perfect season.

uh oh....
TRUST ME, I’m not getting ahead of my skis, but Cincinnati is a VERY different team without Tony Pike. Collaros played well last night, you saw how he throws the ball.
Again, I’m not getting ahead of my skis, but WHAT IF Krag notches a victory over a Top 10 on the road……
That would finally be the first thing on the PRO side of the PRO/CON ledger.

as fun as Kragthorping UC's perfect season would be...
UC did outscore a top 25 team, on the road, and with their 2nd string QB, 17-7…

Kelly could suit up my cocker spaniel at QB
and still beat us by 10…

Why?
I want a Big East team to at least be in the NC conversation.
Did you hear Gruden’s comment as he is being asked a pro football question? “I love college football.”

I want a Big East Team in the NC game too
But if they fail to beat us, they never deserved to be there in the first place. I’d rather not see an artificially inflated, untested Big East team go into the NC game and get humiliated. The Cards’ job is to give them hell, bring everything they got. That goes for every other Big East team, too. We have to be the gauntlet that prepares them for reaching the Promised Land.
I don’t know if the Bearcats are posers, but I’ll be rooting for the Cards to expose them.

That would be like.............
…………………an artificially inflated, untested Big 10 Ohio State getting there and being plastered. Oh wait, that’s happened. Twice.

Why wasn't Gruden asked about a college job?
His name has been on several Web sites, not just blogs, as a possible college coach. I thought it was conspicuous that the ESPN guys completely avoided the question with Gruden in the booth last night. (I took that as hopeful because, like most U of L football fans, I’m grasping at straws.)

Gruden
Well, I’m sure he responded to their invitation to join them in the booth by saying, “sure, guys, happy to join you up there (in my shorts), but if you ask me about a coaching job, I’m gonna choke you.”
