Crawford on why Gruden to U of L will never happen
I'm not sure there's anyone among us who thinks there's any more than a razor thin chance of Jon Gruden actually being the next head football coach at Louisville (I've already promised to wear a dress to Derby if it does), but I think it's the fact that Jurich is reportedly at least making an effort to go after him that has people so enthused.
Regardless, here's EC telling you why this will never come to fruition.

That was an interesting discussion, but it is out of date thanks to the NFL Network. What people fail to mention is Tampa is paying Gruden $5 million per year for the next year three not to coach in the NFL. If Louisville were to give him $3 million per year, he would be collecting $8 million per year. Bellicheck doesn’t make that much.
Yea but if Dan Snyder pays him 7 mil which is rumored and he starts a bidding war between snyder and Jerry jones he could make 12+.
I just don’t think it would be feasable him ending up in Louisville.

Lombardi on the NFL Network said Gruden is not that high on the Redskins pecking order. Snyder has a bad reputuation and Gruden’s not going to give up $5 million per to work for the Redskins. He may not choose Louisville, but he’s not going to the NFL unless they pay him more than the money the Bucs are paying him.
And Michael Lombardi is at it again...

I don’t know about you guys, but this guy seems like he knows something. I personally think that somebody in the AD is getting him to try to spread this stuff to get Gruden thinking seriously.
