Go Cards!

I was at the Ole Miss game and they looked good for about five minutes. They’re driving me crazy at this point with the Jeckyll/Hyde crap.

BTW, if I miss the beginning of the game because channel 12 in Cincinnati doesn’t switch, I’m going to be highly upset.

Go Cards!

I’m pretty excited about this one. Hopefully we knock down some shots early and keep Freedom Hall rockin’ for the full 40 minutes. Off topic: What was up with that 40 point beatdown Marquette gave Cincy? Marquette really good, or Cincy really bad?

by cardscott5 on Jan 4, 2009 4:14 PM EST reply actions

Worried...

… to have Samardo out this early. Good team defense so far.

by mabake02 on Jan 4, 2009 4:50 PM EST reply actions

Someone needs to hurt Meeks

I don’t care if it gets a T, he deserves to be hurt.

I’m kidding of course, but seriously, get him out of the game. Draw some fouls or something.

by CARD_G6 on Jan 4, 2009 4:56 PM EST reply actions

Foul much?

Preston makes a three, guards the inbound tightly, gets pushed so the KY guard can get the ball and figures he can guard tightly and gets called for a touch foul in close. It’s this kind of inconsistent refereeing that kills players and that you are taught to avoid as a ref.

BE CONSISTENT!

And Knowles has two

It does not look good in the long run

T Will

once again is very very disappointing

Go Cards!

by Red Rage on Jan 4, 2009 5:06 PM EST reply actions

I like Sosa's playing today

I want to believe this is a turning point for him, and ergo, the team.

by CARD_G6 on Jan 4, 2009 5:19 PM EST reply actions

Smart play by t-will

To foul with .8 seconds left. that was a real heady play by him.

by blopez0487 on Jan 4, 2009 5:29 PM EST reply actions

i'm a little worried

that we are only up 3. i would rather not watch E5 and t-will jack up threes. i would, however, like to see us hit the glass a little harder. enough uk offensive rebounds

by cardscott5 on Jan 4, 2009 5:29 PM EST reply actions

Well said

The easy putbacks are keeping UK right in the game.

by mabake02 on Jan 4, 2009 5:31 PM EST up reply actions

Some good, some bad

Overall a decent 1st Half. Solid halfcourt defense, as usual. Excellent FT shooting… don’t know where that came from, but hells yeah! But, lousy rebounding is allowing UK to hang around. Fix that and it could be a blowout. When McGee and Sosa slash down the lane, good things usually happen. More of that + better rebounding = comfortable win. Without improvements (or with a defensive letdown) and it’s anybody’s game.

by CardsFanTX on Jan 4, 2009 5:37 PM EST reply actions

Jennings and Goode

I’m glad SS sat early. I think E5 was too tired and Swop should have rested him.

by 97E3LPL on Jan 4, 2009 5:42 PM EST reply actions

Samardo can't catch the ball...

Earl is playing his typical lazy game…TWill is a ghost, when he’s not turning it over with his moronic shot selections….we suck

Go Cards!

by Red Rage on Jan 4, 2009 5:47 PM EST reply actions

i like dunks just as much as the next guy

but in a game this close you gotta make sure you get the ball in the basket. that dunk attempt by t-will wasn’t even close to goin in..

on the other hand, if it did go in, the place would have erupted.

by blopez0487 on Jan 4, 2009 5:51 PM EST reply actions

Great pass

by Earl to get the ball to a wide-open T-Will.

by mabake02 on Jan 4, 2009 5:52 PM EST reply actions

T-Will's 3's are giving us this game so far

I didn’t think I would ever get the opportunity to say that.

by CARD_G6 on Jan 4, 2009 5:58 PM EST reply actions

you have to wonder...

how many times patterson will score on that play

by blopez0487 on Jan 4, 2009 5:58 PM EST reply actions

Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck

I can never understand how this team can’t hold on to big leads.

by CARD_G6 on Jan 4, 2009 6:05 PM EST reply actions

hmm..

anybody else just see billy g’s face light up when he looked over to see t-will had rolled his ankle?

by blopez0487 on Jan 4, 2009 6:07 PM EST reply actions

"A good non-call" -- WTF?

NO. It was NOT a good non-call. He gathered the ball and then took two step. This is what we like to call travelling in modern basketball.

by mabake02 on Jan 4, 2009 6:21 PM EST reply actions

I haven't figured out who I hate worse yet

Meeks, Patterson, the refs, or CBS. It’s really anyone’s game right now.

by CARD_G6 on Jan 4, 2009 6:22 PM EST up reply actions

Well

The game is within our reach with 4 minutes left. Good shots and good defense will close it out. Cut down on the fouls and increase the ball movement on offense, and continue to get our hands up and move our feet on defense.

I know, I know, it sounds like I’ve got a secret mic in the huddle right now :)

by Red Rage on Jan 4, 2009 6:49 PM EST reply actions

I *almost*

wish that hadn’t happened. I fear that will be worth about three bad Edgar losses in the BE.

by statprof on Jan 4, 2009 6:51 PM EST reply actions

hopefully not

maybe he has learned..lets hope so at least

by blopez0487 on Jan 4, 2009 6:51 PM EST reply actions

i hope

the light turned on for him and it keeps glowing. i haven’t checked the box score, but he didn’t really turn it over much and he really picked his spots. SOSA!!!!!

foul on meeks

I was afraid i was going to have to disown Jerry Smith for the foul on Meeks, in spite of all his 3s. Cardiac Cards live again…

How sweet it is....

what a great win for the CARDS and the fans. I don’t think we could have taken a loss to yUK after all we’ve been through lately. I am happy for Edgar, happy for the team and OMG am I happy for the fans…..HAPPY NEW YEAR AND GO CARDS; BEST IN THE STATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great win, Cards

That was an incredible shot by Sosa. He played out of his gourd today, and Kentucky.

Thanks for making the game interesting for the last 2 minutes, though.

by TheFakeGimelMartinez on Jan 4, 2009 7:08 PM EST reply actions

"...and Kentucky..."

…couldn’t find a good defender for him.

by TheFakeGimelMartinez on Jan 4, 2009 7:09 PM EST up reply actions

Not to forget T-Will

…who had a great game and couldn’t be stopped.

You guys shot remarkably above average in 3PT and FT (I think). Just an outstanding effort from the Cards. I’m glad my Cats were able to claw back and finish strong.

by TheFakeGimelMartinez on Jan 4, 2009 7:22 PM EST up reply actions

T WIll what?

Subpar game for him, and that’s being nice

Go Cards!

by Red Rage on Jan 5, 2009 12:30 AM EST up reply actions

t-will shot the ball great for him from 3,i think,,,

but the foul with 0,8 on the clock was pathetic,,,,,plus he made a couple more stupid rebounding fouls giving uk free throws. it’s like he doesn’t know what being in the penalty on fouls means.

CARDS RULE!!BRONCOS RULE!!GO LAKERS!!!

I'm sorry

but I made a deal with Beelzebub… you’ll all have to sacrifice your firstborns on a homemade altar within the next 24 hours. If you’re true fans, you’ll make the poor chillins understand why it has to be this way.

by CardsFanTX on Jan 4, 2009 7:09 PM EST reply actions

Wow.

I haven’t jumped up and down and cheered like that all season. It’s nice to have a genuine reason to smile and whoop and holler for the Cards!

Congratulations, guys.

Great game. Nobly won.

Holy effin shit

anyone see me in the middle of the court during the celebration?

by sam34gtr on Jan 4, 2009 7:49 PM EST reply actions

Saw you down there before the game

But was too busy hugging and high-fiving random people to pay attention to the court afterward.

by Mike Rutherford on Jan 4, 2009 10:19 PM EST up reply actions

Just back from game: That was a great game, a wild crowd, and an amazing ending

Edgar Sosa — just amazing

Jerry —back with 3 for 3 on 3’s

we shot 46% on 2’s, 55% on 11 for 20 3’s , and 82% on free throw.

Ball movement was good , except for several ill-advised one-on-two or three’s by Earl in the second half (and his 7 TO’s)

Just a really well-played game by both teams.

by frankpos on Jan 4, 2009 8:47 PM EST reply actions

Thank the gods,,,,,,,,

for sosa’s shot going in or me and Big Earl would have still been cryin’!! I didn’t see earl after the game but i hope he was celebrating like everyone else and not too down on himself, even though all those turnovers were ridiculous. He should buy edgar whatever he wants!

Awesome

Might be the best UL/UK game I’ve been to. Blow outs are awesome and all, but this was pure ecitement from start to finish.

Nice to see the young guys get some minutes in this game. Williams was awsome, and Sosa showed why he is our best guard when he plays within himself. All in all, this game is great exp for down the road.

Could someone please,,,,,,,

post the audio of paul rogers call of sosa’s shot or tell me where i can listen to it at.
