Georgetown / ND?
Georgetown already lost at ND. You mean Marquette
Had the wrong day
Realized it. Fixed it. Did 7,000 push-ups as penance.

Marquette
Reminds me a lot of the 05 Illinois team that beat us in the Final Four. Before you get upset, I’m not saying they’re as good, but I think the way they essentially try to get by with 3 experienced guards (the Illini did it with Deron Williams, Dee Brown and Luther Head) with a so-so frontcourt is very similar. I know that Marquette hasn’t played any real tough conference games before tonight, and their lack of muscle is going to catch up with them at some point (brutal last five games, check their schedule), but I don’t think anyone should just assume they’re going to get soundly beaten in some of these games. They’ve looked good in South Bend for the first 20 minutes. And yes, Mike, if you say otherwise, Jerel McNeal will probably spend about 5 hours complaining about how you’re wrong.
If Lazar Haywood...
….follows up his own missed 3 with a dunk in traffic, I’ll start getting worried.
I haven’t seen much of Marquette, but they sure shut McAlarney down tonight, they hit big shots, and they pulled out a tough win at ND tonight.
I think we need to shorten “Marquette’s five game brutal stretch to end the season” since we’ll be talking about it a lot. But they really may be undefeated until then. Their next 6: Georgetown, @Depaul, @USF, @Nova, SJU, SHU. @Nova game is their hardest, and they play 4 of the worst teams.
I say Big East regular season champ only has 3 losses.
Good comparison of styles.
In some ways, I am pretty worried by them. Last year, we were the worst possible match up for them, and they had no answer for Padgett. This year, teams with lots of good, athletic, shooting guards have given us fits. They might be a bad match up for us. We will really, really need Earl to show up.
that game is a long way off
i’m worried about one game and one game only: the next one.
That was pretty impressive
I still can’t stand James or McNeal.

the behavior they display on court
reminds me of Calipari coached teams….awful cocky among other things
anybody hear Bilas during this game?
Great remarks about the “debate” as to whether the ACC or Big East is the toughest men’s basketball conference. The play-by-play guy was trying to fan the flame when bilas countered, a bit incredulously, “Is it really a debate?” The other guys swallowed their microphones.
Bilas was also saying good things about the ville...
…and got interrupted before he could finish.
