Around SBN: Champions League Preview with Jimmy Conrad

I answered some questions on the Louisville/Syracuse game for Alex Dunbar of the NBC affiliate in Syracuse. Feel free to check it out if the mood strikes you.

Also feel free to stop reading after No. 6.

Prediction

I beg to differ on the prediction… Louisville 74, Syracuse 69.

Calling an end to the streak, eh?

I still say the Cards continue to roll…but this will really be tough

Notice that the Syracuse guy,

like everyone else, fails to mention Andre McGee in his examination of the game. People just don’t understand the impact of on-the-ball pressure at the point. The Syracuse guy says the Orange trio of guards may pose problems for Sosa, Knowles and Smith, and that may be true. But the pressure McGee will bring to Jonny Flynn may be the key.

Gee. Nobody ever notices the little guys.

oldman is right

Pitino said it a few weeks ago about Andre’s defense. Not only will he harass you for 7-8 seconds as you bring the ball across half court, but he’ll continue to guard you in the frontcourt for another 7-10 seconds. No one in the country can guard like andre, what’s more no one even tries.

Other than Flynn, these ’cuse guards will fold like laundry and completely buckle under the pressure. As we all know, offense sells tickets and defense wins games.

Our fearsome foursome will carry us more than we ever expected.
