What to watch: 1/22/09
West Virginia at Georgetown (7 p.m./ESPN)
A pretty big contest for both teams in terms of establishing their respective legitimacy.
Purdue at Minnesota (7 p.m./ESPN2)
The Gophers need it if their serious about challenging Michigan State for the Big Eleven crown.
Providence at Seton Hall (7 p.m./ESPNU)
Gonzo's gonna be on TV, and Gonzo knows it.
St. Peter's at Loyola (MD) (7 p.m./MASN)
I love the MAAC, but I'm not sure I can stomach this one.
St. Louis at Temple (8 p.m./CBS College Sports)
Not a whole lot of ohfense in this one.
Louisiana-Lafayette at Western Kentucky (8 p.m./FCS Atlantic)
Orien Greene is not walking through that door.
St. Mary's at San Diego (9 p.m./ESPN2)
The nation's second-longest winning streak is on the line, as is first place in the WCC.
UCLA at Washington State (9 p.m./FSN)
I don't know how I'd feel about 6 o'clock games if I lived on the West coast. It really makes the before or after decision when it comes to dinner that much more crucial.
Cincinnati at St. John's (9 p.m./ESPNU)
A sore sight for basketball purists.
USC at Washington (11 p.m./FSN)
A freshman named Isaiah Thomas leading the Huskies in scoring is one of the most underrated facts in college basketball right now.
Portland at Loyola-Marymount (11 p.m./ESPNU)
Yeah, mom. No, the game's gonna be on TV tonight. Yes, the Portland/Loyola-Marymount game. I am serious. No, I think Gonzaga and St. Mary's are playing at 9. Yeah. Yeah. Uh-huh. You know what, just watch because I'm going to do something cool.

Ohfense
Ha! Love it! I never could stand Majerus just for how he said that word. Hearing him say that has the finger nails on chalkboard effect for me.
But is "DEEEEEEfense" any more appropriate?
I mean the way each and every sportscaster in the nation refers to the football team without the ball…They’ve said it for so long, said it forever, that we now believe it to be right.
Yet I’ve never heard an attorney justify his client’s actions because it was in “self-DEEEFENSE,” just “self defense?”
Ah, semantics on a Thursday evening.
Liked Majerus, Mr thecraphead, liked him a lot.
Have a good one.
Man...were going to have to start clamping down on 3pt D
Seton Hall and Providence both shoot and make a ton of them…
and how bout those Eers??
