John L. Smith heading to Arkansas
I'm not really sure how to feel about all of this.
WHAS11 News has learned former University of Louisville head coach John L. Smith is joining his old protégé, Bobby Petrino, at Arkansas. Smith will be named a defensive assistant coach with the Razorbacks. A formal announcement is expected Friday during Petrino's 2:30 est press conference. It's unknown which role Smith will have with the Razorbacks.
Right now the Razorbacks are without a secondary coach after Lorenzo Wade departed to become defensive coordinator at South Carolina. Smith and Petrino, who was UofL head coach for four seasons, have a history with each other. Petrino was the Cards offensive coordinator in Smith’s first year at UofL.
So former Louisville football head coach John L. Smith takes a job at Arkansas under former Louisville football head coach Bobby Petrino, and he might be replacing former Louisville basketball player Lorrenzo Wade?
This shit keeps getting crazier and crazier.
More on the story here.

WHAS reports it
I accept it as fact. Zo Wade was the secondary coach at Arkansas, left to finish his senior season at San Diego State, missed some dunks, stole some TVs, and now he’s going to be the defensive coordinator at South Carolina.
It’s really not that far-fetched.

John L. to Arkansas
That’s probably the last or second to last headline I expected to read when I fired up the ol’ card chronicle this morning.
I think only “Pryor Transferring From OSU to UL” would have been more shocking.

Depressing news about football
Isn’t it always? But the notion that Hunter’s throwing motion could be fixed in a couple of days is yet another testimony to the total, absolute and total, ineptitude of Kragthorpe and company. My goodness, does Jurich even read anymore? How can he be cognizant of this stuff and not boot Coach K out the door? Oh, I know the answer of course. Friendship is getting in the way of good judgment and the result may well be a decade-long fall for the football program.
Thank God for basketball.

JLS and Petrinp
Good riddance to bad rubbish. I don’t care if they were two of the best coaches in Louisville history, Jurich has told us Petrino didn’t do it the right way. That means if JLS is willing to work for Petrino, then JLS doesn’t do it the right way either. I would much rather lose with dignity than win.
Seriously, screw Kragthorpe. Fire this loser now. Get prepared for more bad news folks. Brohm has been shit canned, Nord is likely headed to Purdue, and Tony Alford is probably a Golden Domer. Next year, our idiot coach will in command of whole new staff and a roster full of players who should be with CUSA, the MAC, or D1AA.
