Cantwell making the most of his offseason
Bump
Apparently, whoever Hunter is training with in the offseason is getting him to do something nobody on our coaching staff could...revamp his throwing motion.
According to ESPN, it is paying big dividends, as his performance in the Shrine Game practices could potentially boost him to a mid round pick. I'm glad he's been able to help himself with this. He's always been a class act and a great guy for our football program.

Sickening
Our head coach, a quarterbacks coach, either didn’t recognize the problem, or couldn’t figure out what to do to fix it. Wow. Ignorant or incompetent. Or am I being too harsh?
Go Cards!
No you aren't being too harsh
I’m sure they knew what the problem was, but like you said they couldn’t figure out how to take the time to fix it. Apparently, it wasn’t too hard of a problem to fix either.
Petrino had
Cantwell for two years and didn’t bother to fix it. I think he had more pressing things to work on besides his throwing motion. Like reading defenses and learn a new offense.

Good point.
I wonder if Petrino didn’t bother to fix it because he knew he was leaving, or because he just didn’t care.
I'm not sure I agree.
It seemed to me like Cantwell’s motion was longer this year than in the past. That may just be me not remembering. But my thought is that Petrino and Brohm worked with him enough to make his wind-up not as noticeable, and he has reverted to old form without a coach harping on it.
Here are clips from the Miami game. At 4:00 or so, Cantwell makes his long throw to Douglas, and it looks to me like it is quicker than his release this season.
