Take care of yourselves....

this is dedicated to my U of L buddies out there - Monday night's game was wonderfully exhausting and now what do we have?  Only the #1 team in the country coming in Saturday.  Take a look at this for tips on how to settle down and get rested up for another screamin' night at The Hall.   By the way, I was at the game and I loved the fact that most of us were on our feet the entire game - section 331 that is.  Go CARDS!

Linda's So Nervous About Saturday That She'll Get To Freedom Hall Early

… she and Tom will arrive about 9:00 AM on FRIDAY, muddle through the windy day in a cardboard condominium, spend the night in a sleeping bag, secretly hoping that Pitino will bring out free pizza. She is doing all of this to ensure her place in line for Saturday’s tilt even though she has season tickets(!).

Loved that video about the old guys…reminded me of a classic Saturday Night Live piece. Bill Murray does a voice over about a forgotten World War II unit, called “The Walker Bigade.” Grainy black and white footage and soaring military music depict a series of amphibious vehicles landing on Normandyesque beaches. When the hatches open, the soldiers, all aided by metal walkers, storm to the shore , waves licking at their metal walkers, to take on the evil Nazis.

Bordering on bad taste, but pretty funny.

nope.....

actually don’t have season BB tickets but “I got people”……we are very fortunate to get to go to some of the games every year. Probably will spring for seats in the new arena…….when we go though, we are usually in 331 or there abouts. If we get to go Saturday, I’ll be the woman they are carrying out of there or using the cardio paddles on….oh man. I am a nervous wreck!

338 Represent!

We got the guy who starts the CARDS cheers, and Boogie Cam Man one section over.

Lucky guys

All of you. Wish I could be there, too. By the way, is beer available in Freedom Hall? With the guy who does the handstands, the glazed look on the fans as they cut to commercial, and the mere fact that Frank is in attendence, I would assume, “Yes.”

It’s a ways off. But it feels like we’re gonna win. That’s what scares me.
Know what I mean?

Beer...

Indeed..

I normally wait until I get home to drink though. Dont want to wait in line for a beer at the half, and Im damn sure not going to miss a minute of the action.

Are there any local beers

still around?..I don’t mean microbrews…but I imagine at one time Louisville must have had its own brewery. Good for you, Twisted One for waiting till you get home to imbibe. The trouble with drinking too much at such an event, besides missing the action while you are on line, comes when you hit that vaunted four leaks to one beer ration. I think you know what I mean.

Used to be....

the younger fans won’t remember but years ago there was Fehr’s Beer and Sterling Beer made in Louisville – actually I was too little to drink back then but my folks did….oh yeah and Oertle’s made a great beer in Louisville too. Louisville has a heavy German population and we used to have great beers here – no more. ,o(

BBC

Bluegrass Brewing Company….pretty good brews. They have a few different ones to choose from.

BEER!

I don’t mean microbrews…but I imagine at one time Louisville must have had its own brewery

Come on Roz! We have 3 breweries in the area, BBC, Cumberland Brews, and New Albanian Brewing Company. The BBC has a semi-national distribution deal. I appreciate nostalgia for Oertel’s, Fall’s City, Fehr’s, etc, but these new breweries have several world recognized beers that are oh so tasty. They are craft brewers, some are microbrewers, and they’re delicious.

are the "new ones"...

actually made here in Louisville? I gotta get out more. ,o)

Thanks Everybody

…Next time I’m out there I will do a scientific sampling.
Also, a side trip to Bardstown for a bourbon tour with Mr Frankpos as my designated driver.

Absolutely!

Except for the New Albanian which is located, strangely, in New Albany.

With branch water? Or you’ll just probably sip.

That is truly unfortunate

All of us in 338 should wear red or black to the game on Saturday so we’ll recognize each other.

I dont have any black cardwear...

But I do have a Wheat jersey from a while back. Ill try to find that and wear it.

by twistedwedge on Jan 15, 2009 12:24 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I'm sure you'll

be able see each other. Nobody else will be wearing Red or Black that day. I’ve got an idea… How about everyone wear black, red or if they are really daring white.

Just kidding around. GO CARDS!

I'll Come To The Game Disguised As Beau Zach Smith

…at a strategic moment I’ll find a telephone booth and change into……oh, no….Beau Zach Smith.

We need a Quatum Leap.

I Promise You One Thing. A Lot Of Good Will Come Outta This.
You Will Never See Anyone Type On The Message Boards As Much As I Will For The Rest of This Season .
You Will Never See Anyone Push and Root For His Team As Hard As I Will For The Rest of This Season.
And You Will Never See Another Team Fight Tougher and Harder Than Louisville Will In the Big East For The Rest of This Season.
God Bless.
