Let’s Get This One!!

ESPN, I believe

…good luck everybody…I’m heading down to my clubhouse to watch the game.

Go Louisville.

by Roz on Jan 10, 2009 11:55 AM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Perfectly hedged...

….as long as we play the best we can, I think this is a no-lose. If we get blown out by 20, obviously that would suck. But Nova plays us tough (denies the post) and we’ve probably never won in Philly?

Either way, should be a great game.

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 12:02 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Crap

Black unis. No way we win now.

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 12:02 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Did you

not see the USF game?

by Dais on Jan 10, 2009 12:07 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Good start

Even if the layup was sloppy. Go Cards!

by mabake02 on Jan 10, 2009 12:04 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Jerry looks like he hurt himself...

There’s Samardo’s first dunk in like 3 weeks! Woot.

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 12:05 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Well I can't complain so far

but….. More evidence that Sosa should only shoot from the key. and twice I’ve seen Earl pull up outside instead of going to the hole where he could have gotten a great ally-oop

by sam34gtr on Jan 10, 2009 12:06 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The problem with T-Will throwing the entry pass from the corner

is that no one honors his outside shot so it’s an automatic double team.

by Mike Rutherford on Jan 10, 2009 12:09 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Nice!

Love to see him able to put the ball on the floor and take a guy one-on-one. That’s what I’ve seen Greg Monroe from Georgetown doing, and what separates him from Samardo in my mind as an offensive player— that, and Monroe’s little jump hook. If Samardo can do that more consistently, he’ll be a force.

by mabake02 on Jan 10, 2009 12:12 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Decent start...

….Nova seems to have no idea how to deal with the zone. Which is weird for a team with 4 guards?

Hey good sosa, maybe take off your jacket, sit down, get comfy, stay awhile? We’ve got HD.

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 12:11 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Liked that move by Samardo...

…frustrating he got stripped.

I’m ok with Delk taking that shot.

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 12:19 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Pretty!

Delk not being shy.

by mabake02 on Jan 10, 2009 12:20 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Not a foul

But whatever, he would have had an easy two if they didn’t call it.

by Mike Rutherford on Jan 10, 2009 12:20 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I really love TJ playing well

It helps us alot and it makes my prediction of him being the next Amare Staudemire a little more realistic

by sam34gtr on Jan 10, 2009 12:22 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I just remember Rick talking about

how he was gonna be an instant impact player… and I hadn’t seen it until recently

by sam34gtr on Jan 10, 2009 12:23 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Really?

Gonna call that on earl?

by mabake02 on Jan 10, 2009 12:25 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Love that

drain the 3 right in his face

by sam34gtr on Jan 10, 2009 12:25 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

*too hard

Nice move by Reynolds. I think up and down is good for us. Not sure if “still feeling it” applies with only his 2nd basket 12 minutes in.

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 12:28 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Wearing down their starters?

Losing our lead with theirs in and ours out

by sam34gtr on Jan 10, 2009 12:29 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Again

Comfy with the big lead… Big lead not comfy with us

by sam34gtr on Jan 10, 2009 12:32 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Come on

Why so weak now? The start was so good. We need another run.

by CARD_G6 on Jan 10, 2009 12:32 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Sloppyball

7 turnovers… not good.

by mabake02 on Jan 10, 2009 12:32 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Sloppy

Not looking too sharp even with the starters back in

by SullyCard on Jan 10, 2009 12:32 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

This is terrible

I was wondering when it was coming.

by CARD_G6 on Jan 10, 2009 12:35 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

We're shooting 20% from 3....

and a ton of turnovers and Nova just used an 11-0 run to tie it.

So all things considered, not horrible.

Nova playing good defense.

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 12:36 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Jerry passing up a 3..

…and passing to Sosa for 3 in the corner = worst situation for our offense?

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 12:38 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

It might be time

To see if George Goode can play the four.

by Mike Rutherford on Jan 10, 2009 12:40 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

that should've been the plan all along

swop won’t be a contributor till next season

by davidson07 on Jan 10, 2009 12:56 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Why Jerry?

I mean, the trigger finger is better than it used to be, but don’t overdo it.

by CARD_G6 on Jan 10, 2009 12:42 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Mike..

…since you wrote that about someone else rebounding with T-will out he has like 9 rebounds.

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 12:42 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

good edgar..

he needs to make passes like that more often

by MBelz15 on Jan 10, 2009 12:43 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I post stuff

while people are posting about two plays ago

by sam34gtr on Jan 10, 2009 12:44 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

when was the last time...

t will swished 4 FT’s in a row? i like it

by MBelz15 on Jan 10, 2009 12:47 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

big swing..

..TJ with the nice block, missed 3 and then Nova dunks…..wish TJ could catch passes on the break, Jerry would have passed it to him.

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 12:48 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

What a half

Swings both ways… we couldn’t have played worse for about 6 or 8 minutes there, but once T-Will came back in and shored up our rebounding, we steadied a little bit and starting making better decisions with the ball. We also got to the line and actually made some free throws. A good half.

by mabake02 on Jan 10, 2009 12:54 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Samardo did look good

if we can get good passes to him deep, one one one, the guy can do it

by frankpos on Jan 10, 2009 12:54 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

He's looking a lot better the last couple games

The jump shot last game was something we hadn’t seen, and with the exception of that turnover where he dribbled on his foot, his ball handling has been pretty good. A couple good moves, a drive… lots of good things we haven’t seen much of before.

by CARD_G6 on Jan 10, 2009 12:56 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Agreed.

He’s always got UConn’s tool in his mouth too.

by CARD_G6 on Jan 10, 2009 12:57 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

that big east lineup of games...

is absolutely ridiculous.

and digger phelps is most definitely a tool

by MBelz15 on Jan 10, 2009 12:59 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Anyone Notice...

how they messed up on the stats of samardo like 3 times at halftime?

by Final4Galore on Jan 10, 2009 1:08 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

jerry...

is going to hit one of those threes. they better stop leaving him open

by MBelz15 on Jan 10, 2009 1:10 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Send a message?

Guess that goes both ways. I’m glad to see Samuels playing strong.

by mabake02 on Jan 10, 2009 1:11 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

All right, kids

Second half has started. React accordingly.

by Mike Rutherford on Jan 10, 2009 1:12 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Good Edgar

That was very good to make that shot as it was highly contested.

by CARD_G6 on Jan 10, 2009 1:12 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

AND ONE!

Not even sure I saw a foul, though…

by mabake02 on Jan 10, 2009 1:18 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

3rd dunk today for SS...

i hadn’t seen him dunk in about 2 weeks before today

by MBelz15 on Jan 10, 2009 1:18 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

his feet....

actually left the floor – YA1Y

by Linda on Jan 10, 2009 1:23 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

There you go TWILL

How many times do we see him make that! Nice!

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 1:19 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I really thought the guys would give up after the three, and again after the inside swish

But I’m so glad they haven’t. This isn’t the easily discouraged team that played the first 5 games of the season, and I’m happy.

by CARD_G6 on Jan 10, 2009 1:20 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

That's 2 wide open dunks..

…Clark has missed by not handling SS’s passes.

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 1:24 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

damn it

2nd opportunity we’ve missed bc we cant catch

by MBelz15 on Jan 10, 2009 1:24 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

E5

That was wicked!

by Dais on Jan 10, 2009 1:25 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Odd shot by Clark

Just because he made it doesn’t mean I liked it.

by CARD_G6 on Jan 10, 2009 1:25 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Crappy call

One of those calls made by a ref out of reflex…. guy reached in other guy lost the ball, must have been a foul.

by mabake02 on Jan 10, 2009 1:26 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Terrence Jennings has the longest arms

since the alien at the end of Close Encounters.

by Mike Rutherford on Jan 10, 2009 1:27 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

There you go TJ

Dunk it in traffic next time big man!

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 1:28 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

TJ

don’t dribble, just dunk it!!

by P.A. CardsFan on Jan 10, 2009 1:28 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

E5

actually has 8 according to ESPN.com

by P.A. CardsFan on Jan 10, 2009 1:33 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Earl....

….taking over the game.

Nova is getting inside pretty easy on us. They are missing lots of shots but they shouldn’t be able to get the ball inside so easily.

Sloppy couple of minutes.

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 1:31 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

t will

doesn’t need to get any more fouls today. if he comes out we might not get a rebound for the rest of the game

by MBelz15 on Jan 10, 2009 1:32 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

That's right

You can’t lower that shoulder

by CARD_G6 on Jan 10, 2009 1:35 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Damn

That was a good pass and a good setup, but no 3 point opp.

by CARD_G6 on Jan 10, 2009 1:36 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Getting tired

can’t make free throws

by sam34gtr on Jan 10, 2009 1:36 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Nice high low...

…I was looking forward to Earl’s angry-mean face if he made that shot.

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 1:36 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Good TO

No Card touched that ball.

by CARD_G6 on Jan 10, 2009 1:37 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

WTF?

Getting elbowed in the face is a foul?

by CARD_G6 on Jan 10, 2009 1:38 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Can't blame SS for that

either the missed lay-up or the foul.

by Dais on Jan 10, 2009 1:38 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

What's up with the horn operator

making me think someone has fouled out every time he gets to do his job?

by sam34gtr on Jan 10, 2009 1:39 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Goddamnit

make sure he cant shoot the ball when you foul him

by sam34gtr on Jan 10, 2009 1:42 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Foul trouble...

….our big men are in it, our guards are not. I thought Big East was other way around?

Two of the calls on T-will were crap.

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 1:42 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Actually, it didM

My wife asked me how I knew it was LeBron and I said “It sounds just like him.”

by mabake02 on Jan 10, 2009 1:46 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

probably

something with his new sneaker.

by P.A. CardsFan on Jan 10, 2009 1:45 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

great look!

we’ve had 3 or 4 good passes like that today

by MBelz15 on Jan 10, 2009 1:45 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Worst play in the game right there...

….fouling the 80% free throw shooter 90 feet from the basket.

Nice creation of offense by McGee.

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 1:46 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

why did

Sosa give that ball up to Earl. He’s the point guard.

by P.A. CardsFan on Jan 10, 2009 1:47 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yes!!!

I normally don’t like Earl taking a 3, but he made it, so I’ll live.

by CARD_G6 on Jan 10, 2009 1:48 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

3-22 from 3....

…ouch.

Jerry is certainly off.

Don’t like how this one feels right now.

by CardsFan922 on Jan 10, 2009 1:49 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Will sports teams

ever get new music to play during the timeouts?

by P.A. CardsFan on Jan 10, 2009 1:50 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

And here it begins

the downward spiral

Go Cards!

by Red Rage on Jan 10, 2009 1:50 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

ESPN

feels the need to run an alert because Georgetown is down by 3 at half.

by P.A. CardsFan on Jan 10, 2009 1:52 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

t will

is gonna have to put the team on his back today

by MBelz15 on Jan 10, 2009 1:52 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

There is NO WAY

that was a foul on Samardo.

Rewatched it twice on Tivo. Not a chance.
