Let's not all get too excited.....

It was certainly nice to win and win big.  But all we showed on Saturday is that we would be very competitive in the OVC.  That being said, it was a huge game for Coach K.  Can you imagine the fan reaction had the Cards threw another bad performance.

The K-State game will tell us a lot about where we stand.

FYI - Bobby P is not having much fun in Arkansas.  2-0 with a 4 point win over Western Illinois and a 1 point win over Louisiana-Monroe tells me it is going to be a long season in Fayetteville.  Saturday, October 18th Arkansas goes to Lexington.  Could be very interesting.

could happen.....

but I seriously doubt it. We’ll see. Bobby has found a way to win the first two games with odds against him and even though the two teams he beat may not be where yUK is currently, I’ll take Bobby over Knute Brooks any day of any week. SOOIE and Go Cards !

Althought it wasn't that big of a game...

I though we played much better this week than last. I know alot of this probably had to do with the team that we were lined up against.

I was worried that the defense would come into the game with not much intensity. They all looked to be playing very hard and there were plenty of hits that I could hear from my seat. I still don’t think we have had a real test for the defense, but I’m becoming more and more of a English fan everyday.

I was very happy to see Brohm finally open up the play book some. I was starting to get annoyed in the first quarter with the VERY conservative offense that he was running for the second week straight. Just about then he decided to let Cantwell air it out and it had great success. I have come to the conclusion that Brohm probably felt like the offense was not firing on enough cylinders to go to the more aggressive plays. You have to walk before you run. Thats my theory and since it makes me feel better, I’m sticking to it.

I think we have found a keeper in the running back position. Anderson seemed to run very well, his second effort on almost every run made me giggle like a school girl. Bilal still doesn’t look like he likes to run it up the middle. Maybe its the sophomore slump, but lets hope he turns it around. We all know he can be a star as well.

Kicking game. Man-o-man I thought we were really in trouble when Philpott (I beleive that is who it was) kicked 3 consecutive kickoff’s out of bounds. Then all of a sudden he started booting it straight. And they were no dinky kicks, he really go a leg behind them. Let’s hope he got all his jitters out with those first three kicks and can boot the rest of his kicks like he did towards the end of yesterday’s game.

Tn. Tech or West Virginia, Coach K has to be happy with a big win. I hope this helps team moral. Seeing as West Virginia had it taken to them, our team should beleive that anything could be possible this year. We just need to strive to become better and better every week.

One thing that is really really DISAPPOINTING:

Our freaking fan base is terrible. Here is how it works, if we lose big (aka Kentucky) everyone losses. If we win really really big (aka Tn. Tech) everyone leaves. I’m mean WTF? Really? Can you not stay in your seat and watch the rest of the game? Yet again it made me very saddened to see the fan base leave half way through the game. I will say though alot more people turned out for the game than I had though. So I guess that is a plus ???

Anyways go cards!

Yah, until our Fans treat football like bball (come to every game, no matter how the season is going) we’ll never move into that upper echelon of programs, and everyone will still wonder why.

...

they even leave the basketball games too…

there is nothing more demeaning to a player than walking off the court after giving everything he/she had… looking into the stands and seeing they are empty
