Big XII-Big East "Challenge"

So as the Baylor-Uconn game starts, I'd like to comment how much I enjoy these out of conference match-ups. I know there was no formal agreement, but the 5 games between the Big 12 and Big East in the past 2 weeks has kind of been fun. I guess its sort of like the Ryder Cup. Individual teams playing for a greater purpose. I've enjoyed cheering for the other Big East teams, hoping we can get to 3 wins first.

So Far, all 4 home teams have won, (SFU over KU, OU over UC, UL over KSU, and Colo over WVU) and I'm hoping UConn can score a win that will "win us the 5 game series." I wish we had some sort of trophy (like that stupid thing the ACC wins every year in basketball when they smash the Big 10+1).

Maybe in future seasons we can get coordinated. 7 Big East teams (NOT Syracuse) to all play 7 ACC or Pac-10 teams in the same week. That way, a UConn v. BC game or a Pitt v. Arizona game becomes more fun for the rest of us. As if we had something on the line. Just a thought.

PS - Someone should have told Pitt that Iowa STATE, not Iowa, is in the Big XII.

I missed the game

But it sounds like the refs saved UConn from losing. Anyone confirm?

there were some...

questionable calls but on both sides. I hated it that I was cheering for Baylor to beat a Big East team but I have a hard time ever rooting for UConn. Does anyone else REALLY, REALLY like that Baylor coach. They are going to surprise some people and look out next year. I think he’s a dandy. Go CARDS!

what happened

to Guy Morris? wasn’t he at Baylor?

wait i think i remember hearing a rumor about h was in town to interview for a HS team here in Ky… maybe last year… is that true… I don’t think it was a city team I’m thinking some where like North Hardin or that area?

he did come back...

to Kentucky. He was offered a job to coach at a HS somewhere in the state but turned it down….not sure what he’s doing now.
