In Case You're Wondering
Like many others in Louisville, Mike's house is bereft of electricity. Not only that, his computer apparently gave up the ghost. So even if, miracle of miracles, the electricity suddenly returned — a long shot since the only utility trucks I've seen in the area were parked and without peopole — Mike isn't certain his computer will be working.
But before you feel too sorry for him, remember that he's spending this delightfully sunny day watching the Ryder Cup people practice. Some of the rest of us are working...
And as for a new post from the man himself, I have no idea. In other words, it might be a while....

I'm at Panera right now
and I am on the intertubes for the first time since Sunday morning. It’s like drinking a glass of cold water after walking through the desert. I just have to say that not having electricity blows, not having the internet blows, and the thought of not watching the game tonight blows. It could be worse, though. Thank God we are not in South Texas.
When the dust settles, I hope your young’un will finally put up a paypal button to accept donations for a new computer.

Thanks Oldman
I was wondering about Mike. The silence being defeaning and all. It must be so frustrating for him now. Hope he, Einstein, and Frank are safe and dry. Hope everybody is healthy. And remember Lisa, the internet is nothing more than ink, pen, and parchment speeded up; just like rock and roll to the blues. You’re still thinkin’, still functioning and thanks for the post.
Note to Tom of Smokin’ Fastball:
“You never give my your money,
You only give me your funny papers.”

Hmmm, is the Oldman Mike's dad?
LL, I say Mike forgets the tip jar, and asks the UK guys that run this sports network to pony up for a new computer…
BTW, they just removed the tree so people can use Taylorsville rd near Bardstwon rd— let’s see, that took 3 days to clear one of the major roads in Louisville…
Me? no power, gas heater so hot water, Heine Bros open—so cooffee in morn.
finally ice showed up at krogers!! hooray!!
amazingly, no limbs down in my yard—but everywhere around me…sheesh
If ya need power/internet
Campus is up and running. Trees/limbs EVERYWHERE, but I’ve been pretty much living on-campus for hot water/power/internet.
Happy to hear nothing serious
Thanks Oldman for the update. I miss Mike’s insight on such a crucial game. Hopefully he will be able to see it and comment later.
Gosh, folks I feel bad that I have power. I hope LG& E can get you back up soon.
Time was, a win was WIN, now it's just a win.
sorry to hear....
that Mike got hit so hard but relieved that he is ok – I really miss his Open Thread………we were so fortunate that we didn’t lose power. I sure hope our Cards can pull this one out. Lisa, hope that sweet Baby Girl is prayin’. Go CARDS!!
Sorry to hear that
If you guys are interested, I’ve posted an open game thread at Bring On The Cats. You are welcome to participate if you are so inclined.
I happen to live in Houston, so I feel your pain. Ike can suck it.
We'll carry the banner high!
I am really sorry to hear about the power outages in Louisville...
I know Mike and company feel extremely bad about this, but this is when the members here need to take over and keep the site going in Mike’s absense.
Am sure he appreciates all the support you can give him.
Good luck in your game tonight and I do mean that.
Agreed
Good luck, my brothers and sisters of another color.

2nd Quarter has been lively
Cards are playing with passion and intensity. Both scoring drives showed a better level of execution.
There was a great drive-killing INT right there with 1:19 left in the 2nd.

Yes
Yeah lex got hit, but nearly as bad I’m a U of L fan at who goes to UK, I was in town for the ryder cup on tues. and was amazed at the damage my hometown took. There were a few small branches and some leaves down here, nothing major. I’m just glad the k-state game is on espn so i can actually watch it
The worst thing that happened in Lex
Two of the super Wal-Marts lost power, and their generators wouldn’t start. The horror! We had to go shop at Kroger, and we forgot our Kroger card!!! ;)
