Willie Williams named NAIA Defensive Player of the Week
Good to see both he and JaJuan Spillman landing on their feet.
Williams, a 6-4, 220 lbs., senior linebacker from Miami, Fla., had a monster effort in Union’s first win over Lambuth (Tenn.) since 1997. He posted 13 tackles, including seven solo, to go along with 2.5 tackles-for-loss for 17 yards. He also tallied two sacks and recovered two fumbles, which led to two second-quarter Bulldog touchdowns. He helped UC come back from a 7-0 hole and take a 14-7 lead that it would never relinquish. This game was Willie’s first in a Bulldog uniform.
