It would seem

that the Appy State magic has been worn out.

And Pitt fans are already booing

I wonder if that will warrant 17 Gazette columns on the actions of the fan base. Lord knows it would here.

The Wannstache farewell tour...

…they should go ahead and print the t-shirts up.

Florida looks sick with all that speed. Can’t wait to see them go through the meat of their SEC schedule. So glad CFB is back!

Dave Wannstedt

Will be an ESPN personality 12 months from now. There is no doubt in my mind.

It is almost...

….comical watching Pitt. I wonder if they will try another failed NFL coach or giving a mid-major coach a chance to move up?

It's a good lesson...

….how the optimism of winning the last game of the last season, followed by months and months of great quotes from the team about how things have changed, turned a corner, etc….all the talent coming back…this is the year!!!!

Whether we or UK fans appreciate that lesson more will become clear 24 hours from now. But it will be one of us, that’s for sure.

No one else is saying it, but I will....

…it sucks that Pitt is losing. How can you root against your conference in non-conference games? Especially when the team is losing to a MAC team. This just makes the BEast look bad and, in turn, the UofL look bad.

Not rooting against them..

…if I thought we were going to be contending for the BCS title and our SOS made a difference I would be cheering hard for Pitt. But it is probably better for Pitt to have a new coach…..also I don’t think Pitt sucking really hurts us at all because it is not really that surprising…..

So you don't...

…think a top-25 Big East rep losing to a MAC team hurts the impression of the conference? Then why would you care if the Cards finished in the top-2 or 3 of the conference? I mean, one of our top teams just lost to Bowling Green. How could the Big East be any good to begin with? Absolutely nothing to write home about.

Of course, the reverse is the same. The Cards are rebuilding. Odds are that we are going to end up towards the bottom half of the conference. How bad does it say our program is if one of our members loses to a non-BCS program?

Perception of conference matters, don’t kid yourself.

I don't think anyone said they were rooting against Pitt

I wasn’t. That doesn’t mean I’m not going to acknowledge the fact that Wannstedt is awful.
