Although the tennis action at Wimbledon this past Sunday afternoon was, admittedly, fast and furious, local Time Warner channel 1024 offered something even more scintillating.

Good One, Mike
...you topped me again.
In the old days, SNL did a pretty funny skit about a couple of guys performing in that most manly of arts, synchronized swimming. I can’t remember exactly who both of the principals were, but one was the exquisite Martin Short…his swimming skills were so rudimentary that he was forced to wear a big orange life preserver while performing.
Pretty funny back then.
Is it basketball season yet?
If you click on the link
It leads you to a video of about two minutes of that sketch, one of my all-time favorites.
The other guy is Harry Shearer, who does a bunch of the voices on The Simpsons.

Thanks
Pure genius…almost makes me cry…a guilty pleasure indeed to watch those boys splash around.
Harry Shearer, of course, from Spinal Tap. The rock group that tragically lost two drummers to the most rare event in the history of the world, spontaneous combustion (I hate it when that happens).
Was he in “Best In Show?”...the great comedy, both dry and dusty, about dog shows?
Is Harry Shearer and Christopher Guest the same person?
Short did an exceedingly obscure character, also on SNL, called Jackie Rodgers Jr…a show biz guy, cut from fine cloth (Jackie Rodgers Sr, of course) who would come out and talk about how great show biz used to be. He had wildly white hair and bad British teeth. It was all done so heart feltly.
