Around SBN: Raiders' GM Begins The Purge

Outlook of next year's team

If T-Will decides to go pro also, then our situation probably won't be so hot next season. Samardo is coming in, so is Terrence Jennings. I expect them to start now. Is George Goode going to convert to PF? If Clarence Holloway can play, then we'll have some depth there. If not then we'll only have two true post players and they'll both be freshman (albeit very good freshman). Andre will be the only remaining player from that recruiting class, Sosa will be there as well. Jerry and Preston at SG (Will Scott too if you count him). Swopshire and Goode at SF, maybe Melquan Bolding if he signs. Then Samardo and Terrance down low....I dont know, it doesnt look good to me right now. Makes me wish Rick had kept going after Tyreke. What do you guys think?

Maybe...
We might see a 4 guard offense with T-Will at the 4 spot next year.

1 - McGee
2 - Smith
3 - Delk
4 - T-Will
5 - Samuels or Jennings

If T-Will goes pro, then I have no idea who will play the 4 spot.  For depth reasons, Samuels and Jennings cannot both start.

I don't think the recruiting of Evans would impact the 4 spot, he's a wing player.  We simply don't have a PF.

I don't think T-Will will ultimately stay in the draft.  He is not a lottery pick by any stretch of the imagination.  At least not right now.  If he cuts down on his TO's and erratic play, then next year he most definately could be...

mock drafts
I didnt see 1 mock draft with Earl in the first round. Highest I saw was him at 36th and DC at 49th. The draft is pretty deep so I could see him not making the lottery. Hope he comes back.

Not too worried
about our depth, even if both T-Will and Earl leave.  Can't really worry about it, since they were projected to leave at the beginning of the season anyway.  But there will definitely be growing pains.  At least our guards will be experienced, which is always a huge plus.

I'm Just worried that
we won't have any playmakers if T-Will leaves. I'm not convinced that Sosa can take over that role.

I'm willing to bet that
RP will sign a couple more big's before it's all said and done.

T-Will staying
certainly gives us a brighter outlook.  As previously mentioned, he is a great playmaker, and with our smaller stature next year, we will probably see a return of the dribble drive offense that took us to the final four.

RP is looking at one more big, at least according to Scout, I think.
