Mike Leach
Apparently, Mike Leach, the current Texas Tech head coach is talking with the University of Washington about the coaching vacancy there. Washington is terrible, has been for the past few years. If Washington can at least persuade Leach to talk to them, why not Louisville? He would certainly be a step up for us. We would keep whatever recruiting pipeline Krag has to Texas, and from what I've seen of the recruiting, it's not great. Leach would probably improve in that area as well.

Linda beat me to it
but you are right—these two things i have verified:
the decision on K will not be taken out of Jurich’s hands
TJ will not fire K this season no matter what happens at Rutgers

Recruiting
Washington has a natural recruiting base (talented cali kids). He could find kids to work in his system right away and turn them around… right away. Here, not so much. Even though they’ve been horrible lately, I still think the Huskies have a better “history” than us too. Louisville would be like 3 steps down for Leach.

I dont know if I'd say 3 steps back...
TT right now is exactly like us 2 years ago. Washington is probably a better next move for him since the PAC10 is wide-smokin’-open aside from that USC team and he wouldn’t have to recruit against the 72 other college teams in Texas. Plus that QB they got in Washington is already big time… Simms may require some work.
