Michael Bush is better than a lot of NFL running backs who do start
This I promise you.

I agree. He could of got out of Oakland this offseason with a trade maybe, now he’s stuck, unfortunately.

I disagree with this
Bush’s performance only helped his possibility of getting out of Oakland. Essentially, his performance increased his trade value by probably a factor of 5x. Oakland would be smart to trade him while his perceived value is an all-time high (hello, Cleveland, Denver, Kansas City, Tampa, Seattle, Arizona).
After all, McFadden is still the man in Oakland (and the future) and there’s no way Oakland can keep 3 quality RBs in McFadden, Fargas and Bush with all of their other holes.

Not with Al Davis calling the shots. Ask Marcus Allen. He is dumb enough to sit McFadden, cut Huggie Bears son and play Bush, then tell McFadden that Bush is making 1/4 of his pay and is a better back. He’s a total nut, but I hope your theory is correct.

He had a great game
But he’s got to get back into shape. After that touchdown, he became very tired, and would stay on the ground far too long after every run after that. It’s tough not having a backup, and that could have been the problem yesterday. But he was so tired after that run that on their next possession, Oakland actually had to burn a timeout so he could catch his breath.
If he gets back into shape, he can (and should) be a starter, and not just at Oakland. The coach that said he was worse than Fargas needs to have his head examined.

How did they burn a timeout so he can catch his breath if he scored the touchdown? He may be a little tired, but he just needs to get more PT so he can get used to it. He did rush 27 times though, thats alot.

3rd TD
He would have scored a 3rd TD if he wasn’t totally gased. (That was post time out I believe)

The timeout was called on the ensuing drive. He rushed it three times, then on the third play, he took a good 10 seconds to finally get up (with a couple guys helping him), then he slowly walked to the sideline. The players kept waiting for him to come to the line, then when they realized he was on the sideline, they used a timeout. Coming back from the timeout, he went back to the line. I know these things because I actually watched the game.
And yes, 27 carries is a lot, but a first string RB in the NFL has got to be able to do it. You don’t see LT or Adrian Peterson having to limp off the field to catch their breath, and they often carry it at least 25 times in a game. In fact, AP is averaging 23 carries per game this year. I’m not saying he’s way out of shape, I’m just saying he’s going to have to work a little to reach his full potential.
