exactly what I was wondering
apparently their cameras, or WHAS’s feed, are terrible.

Our shot selection
Is presently less than awesome.

So
We’ve had better opening five minutes.

He is
Dunked, and then let Pettigrew score an easy bucket.

decent at times, not so much at other times
WKU has gotten a number of their points with under 10 on the shot clock. several possessions with good D that breaks down as the shot clock gets low.
If we could make an open 3....
….we’d be up 10.
Also WKU is playing pretty well, although a lot of these shots are garbage and should not be going in. Oh well, teams give us their best shot.
Will Scott
An outstanding outside shooter who apparently refuses to take shots when no one’s guarding him.

Hey. Edgar.
When Pitino says one shot, he means one fucking shot.

Not sure..
..we could have played much worse that half. Or Western could have played much better. What are they shooting? It’s not like they are getting open looks.
Surely to god
There’s going to be a run in here somewhere soon.

This performance
will certainly bring us more national respect. If we win, which is 50-50 .
Go Cards!
Outside Shooting...
will be our achilles heel this year.
Game stats
Does anyone have any idea the shooting percentages? Free-throw percentages? Anything? This broadcast by the WKU broadcast communications department leaves a lot to be desired.
How dare you, sir!
How dare you insult Senaca High’s AV Club!

I keep thinking we'll have a run
But we keep looking like yuck.

me too Lisa.....
I think they had too much turkey and too much “trimmins” over the holiday (ahem)…….Come on guys, how about a 12-0 run.
31% shooting for the game....55% for WKU in the 2nd half...
That about sums it up. So frustrating. It’s not like we are taking bad shots (and its not like they are taking good shots either).
I'm about to lose it
This is very, very frustrating.

T-Will does the Garcia/Brandon Jenkins jersey grab
Which would be fine if he didn’t shoot 23% from the line.

We're being completely outplayed
by a team that has no business being in the game.

This is really
making my blood pressure and heart rate skyrocket.
I’m actually rather embarrassed. I talk so much shit to UK fans, now it’s biting me in the ass
It's way to early in the season
for me to feel like this when I watch a basketball game.

We have only 5 field goals this half....
..that’s really an unbelievable stat. We’ve also missed 11 free throws.
Also they call a foul with :01 seconds on the shot clock. That is terrible.
That was one of the most passive performances by such a talented team
that I have ever seen
We have been—and are— soft on rebounding—
Our outside shooting remains streaky from last year
Our foul shooting remains streaky
Ball movement suffers without Padgett
Hopefully, a great learning game and motivator….
I just dont understand....
..with the success of the inside-out game up until today-why abandon it all the sudden? Instead-Lets just jack up a bunch of threes and stand around and see which WKU player will grab a rebound. WTF gives?
i hate it
that a loss makes my entire day crap…

Could this have been
planned? Not the loss, but the style of play and personnel choices by Pitino. He’s kinda famous for playing around early in the season, tinkering with different sets and styles to see if anything gels. It doesn’t excuse the FT shooting and lack of rebounding, but I’m not so sure Pitino minds losing to decent teams early in the non-conf schedule. Still sucks, but I’m not worried a bit for the long haul.
R..E... REB... REBOUND
Samuels REALLY REALLY needs to learn to rebound…
Im not gonna go all out on “CLARK SHOULD HAVE WENT PRO” {although Ive never been a fan of his and wish he did}
but as athletic as he is… he should attempt to take the ball to the HOOP a lot more often…
SAME SAID for T-WIll…
Clifford
Wow...
You guys (and gals) need to bite your tongue with the “suck” chatter and chill with the all-out-assault on the Cards. I’ll be the first to admit that today’s performance was lackluster and an all around brutal game to watch; but let’s dispense with the irrational statements for now… afterall, we’re only three games into the season.
Oh, right… we were No.3…. and WKU just lost to Murray St….
But look, here’s the deal:
1.) We lost the heart, soul, and identity of our team with Padgett’s departure.
2.) T-Will is just returning from a short stay on the DL.
3.) Our schedule has been whack.
4.) Samardo WILL be awesome and he will live up to expectation… but he’s young, and he still hasn’t learned how to use his body for rebounding position. And he most certainly hasn’t learned the art of kicking the ball out when he’s doubled down low.
The loss was inexcusable, and I don’t think any of us should take it lightly. But it’s early in the season and I’m willing to give this team the benefit of the doubt. Let’s give them some time to grow and evolve because afterall, it’s still early…. and this isn’t the BCS.
the thing
i was most disappointed in is that no one seemed to ever look inside. wku pretty much played a sagging zone and the guys couldn’t figure it out. every once in a while they would drive and dish, or skip pass, but alas. also, i had forgotten what a terrible foul shooter t-will is.
Scott
When you feel like your best team is on the floor when scott is playing, your team is not trying. I love the dedication Scott has given this program, but he should not be the answer, especially against a team that lost to murray by 30 (which makes Murray the top program in the state I guess).
I hate to see a complete lack of effort on everyones part. Smith and Knowles never really got into the game due to the craptastic officiating (both ways, they nickel and dimed both teams to death) and McGee and Sosa flat out sucked. Williams did his best Meeks impersonation, and he and Clark both are more concerned with getting their own shot than anything else right now. Missed dunks, numerous blown fast break oppertunities, a Defense willing to give up anything around the FT line.
A really deflating loss in all respects. i’m not hitting the panic button yet, but this one feels way worse than the typical “what did I just watch” november cardinal clusterfuck.
Agreed
The last time I felt anywhere near this bad about a BBall game was Seton Hall last year. And even that wasn’t as bad due to the miraculous 3 point shooting day they were having.
At least I feel better about our next basketball game than I do our next football game.
