Calling for

…a double double for Samuels, 7+ assists for someone playing guard, & fans to stay the whole game.

Pitino's right about Samuels

He really needs to put in more effort on the glass. Right now T-Will and Kuric are the only guys we have who crash.

yep

We need a true point guard. Peyton Siva, I hope you’re paying attention.

Samuels

Probably won’t play against a true quality big man until Notre Dame on 12 Jan.

All right, Earl

You’re not in the NBA yet.

Hitting on widows

Terry Meiners…seriously…STFU.

I missed it

Anything special or just Terry being an idiot?

Typical Terry

He was pawing Stephanie Minardi’s (Widow of Billy) shoulder throughout an awkward 2 minute interview and actually said to her “By the way you smell like a Rose Garden…It’s not supposed to smell this good inside of the arena…!” followed by an awkward nervous bit of laughter.

HAHA

sounds like Terry. Not too suprised, but definitely out of line

Terry at the WV game

I had to choose between going to the WV game or going to/watching the Morehead game (damn you school) but let me tell you, anyone who wasn’t at the WV game missed quite the Terry Meiners half time spectacle.

Info

any have some basic stats? ESPN has none, can’t watch the game or listen to it since i live in pittsburgh. who’s playing well, who’s not. Any info would be appreciated

stats

Great hustle/effort on D; steals, deflections, forcing TOs (13 so far…should be a lot more). Offense not in synch yet but looks promising from an individual talent standpoint.

Samardo has made a lot of easy, high % shots & currently has 18 pts. 8 rebs; I thought he played softer than he should on D though, taking a charge against someone 6 in shorter instead of standing him up for example…Earl Clark started out playing one-on-one bball and forcing his offense…he settled down a bit and has something like 8pts 5 rebs. Goode looked great on D early in the 1st half, which was positive…our guards aren’t playing terrible in 2nd half overall, distributing the ball well from the perimeter. Sosa not playing well offensively but just hit a three, Preston has been his typical spark plug self. Nobody else stands out to me, either good or bad.

Jerry Smith

is he shooting well? Hows T-Will look playing on his knee. tentative at all or same old t-will

by Ben Go CARDS on Nov 22, 2008 7:07 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

T-Will

isn’t playing much, already has his warmup sweats on. I’d say it was near-typical T-will…he didn’t dazzle but he didn’t look like he held himself back either.

Smith was 1-3 from 3 at the beginning of the game and made a couple strong drives to the basket and drew fouls in 1st half. Not sure what else he’s done.

T-Will just came back in actually and dunked on someone for his first score today..77-39 w/ 3 min left…offense looks a lot better

much thanks for the updates

glad twill is able to still be explosive, but also glad coach has the sense to take it easy for a game against a cupcake.

Goode

Goode looks impressive; agressively controlled on defense and made plays when he got his chances on offense….will be a great fill-in when Samuels isn’t in but should get plenty of minutes regardless.

/Best surprise in the first game.

Overall good performance

Overall a pretty good performance against a small cupcake team. It’ll be interesting how Samuels handles better big men in the post and especially how his jumper/layups will improve. He needs to rebound better though.

Offense struggled with shots going down in the first half, but settled in in the second half, which is great. The team is incredibly deep, which will make a world of difference in Big East play. The defense was pretty great the whole way through against a team that’s pretty quick and looks to be quicker in transition than most Big East teams.

I’m also wondering what happened to Terrance Jennings.

Pics!

Definitely a learning curve, it’s pretty hard. Stay tuned for football and tomorrow’s game

Thank you sweet Lordy Jesus

for the return of basketball. Please remove the 10-ton weight from my aching football fan heart. Amen.
