Aaannnddd last week means nothing

So, that just happened.

The South Florida win has officially been rendered completely meaningless.

I think

I would be more content with losing to USF and beating Syracuse. It is just pathetic that we have dropped two games in consecutive years to the FBS bottom dwellers. Louisville is a laughing stock right now. Come on guys avenge this loss and run the table the rest of the season; in my opinion only that would make up for this embarrassment.

0-2

0-2 against Syracuse
0-2 against UConn
0-2 against Kentucky

That’s Koach’s record.

The fact is that too many players made too many mistakes in the second half. Plays were called down to the field to achieve a win, but players have to execute. My worry is that with little or no threat of a deep pass, we’re not all that difficult to prepare to defend, and Hunter is not exactly what I’d call consistent.

Vic is the bomb.

Wide Smokin' Pathetic

Nice work, Koach. Say all you want about “Greg Robinson is doing a nice job” and “Syracuse is a tough football team” but the facts are the facts:

— Since the new Big East initiated in 2005, Syracuse is 3-22 in conference. 2-2 against UofL and 1-20 against everyone else.

— Syracuse’s only conference wins over the last two seasons were against UofL.

— Over the last two seasons, Syracuse has three I-A (FBS) wins: Buffalo, UofL and UofL.

— Syracuse lost at home this year to Akron.

— UofL is single-handedly keeping Greg Robinson’s job.

Anyone else looking forward to basketball season?

We're looking forward to basketball season in Syracuse, too

GRob can’t seem to beat anyone in the Big East but you guys (and the wins don’t make any sense, so we can’t build on them and beat someone else the next week).

And I wish Krags would stop laying eggs vs. the Orange. We don’t want GRob to keep his job!

Tough loss, Cards

Looks like you guys should get to 7-5, though. Cinci looked good but not great against USF earlier this week, and Rugters is awful, correct?

Bozich or Crawford - Where are you?

I know the game ended fairly late but where is the article on how wrong everyone was when they proclaimed that “UL was back” and that the USF win somehow validated the “coach” being the MAN for the job. The MAN doesnt lose like this. There is no reason to believe the team wont limp home to 6-6 now and another holiday at home.

Imagine the coaches recruiting against our “coach”…..“Louisville? Why would you want to go to Louisville? They cant beat Syracuse for Gods sake”

I don’t know which Kragthorpe’s problem will turn out to be: that he can’t win enough games to recruit good players, or that he can’t recruit enough good players to win games. Either way, he can’t seem to improve the Cards’ status by sheer coaching talent, so maybe it doesn’t matter.

What a pathetic bunch of losers...

The Koaching staff that is!!!

I haven’t been this PO’d at a loss since…well last year when Scuse beat us at home and ended our 20+ game winning streak. Krag is a joke, Cant-do-well is not ready for prime time, and Jeff Brohm has a really long way to go as an OC.

At least the Basketball team manged to eek out a win over Syracuse…er…Georgetown (Kentucky) although even they looked crappy doing it.

All-in-all, a real RED (Ass) Letter day for UL sports.

Come on now....

None of this talk happened last week when the Cards looked like they could beat Texas Tech.

Shit happens. I’m not happy about losing to one of the worst teams in division one, but to say this team hasn’t made leaps and bounds since last year is ignorant.

Keep faith fellas and ladies. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Krapthorpe isn't building rome

He’s playing his fiddle (or staring blankly into space) while it burns to the ground

Ummmm....

Yes, that’s right — we weren’t talking about this last week because UofL didnt lose to one of the worst teams in FBS. I am certainly not on board making the comment that this team has made leaps and bounds from last year. Finally, Rome wasn’t built in a day, but Rome didn’t have momentum coming off an Orange Bowl victory either.

I like your optimism

I think we have made progress from last year that I will agree especially with all the losses we took at key positions. However we are a better team then the one that showed up at Syracuse. I know any given Saturday an upset can happen but we should have blown their doors off.

by The White Mandingo on Nov 3, 2008 6:43 AM EST up reply actions

Let's have some perspective.

Last week we beat USF by 4 at home. USF is now 1-3 in the very bad Big East, with their 1 win over Syracuse. Good win for sure, but not exactly a Texas Tech clone.

And whether there is improvement is largely a matter of perspective. Did we improve from the Syracuse game last year to this year? Doesn’t look like it. Was our home win over USF an improvement over the win at UC last year? Not really. It seems like all of our opponents regressed a little bit (besides Pitt?), and we aren’t looking at a significantly better record.

The Cardinal Roller Coaster

We should set it up during the off season over at Six Flags. Rising high with a win over USF and then plummeting to ground level against Syra (excuse). The cars could be decorated with your favorite players and coaches, and the ride would take you thru the current Cardinal season. Experience the beginning rattle that was UK, then a rapid climb thru the Tenn. Tech and MTSU tunnels. Go hurtling to the ground on the UConn Dive of Death, and roll upside down and thru tight curves in Memphis corner. Shoot high into the sky with the USF Climb and then get violently hurled down the steep incline on Syracuse Sink. Finally, you roll smoothly into the KSU tunnel vision cave, and wait with
anticipation for the Pitt plummet, Cincy Climb, WVU vortek and the Rutgers rail ride.

All aboard! Coach Krags is grimly holding the controls and there are a ton of kool aid drinkers and KragCooper bashers impaitently waiting in line for their rides. Several things you can be assured of…you’ll laugh, scream, cry and yell…and the ride price will go up again for your next trip.

maybe espn

could start to schedule some games for sunday morning. each one of those we played would assure that coach crapthorpe would be at se christian instead of on our sidelines. jurich has to be sick. he’s made so many good hires, but his most personel was also his worst.

I believe that’s a massive, massive stretch. We are a .500 team. Period.
