Farewell! God knows when we shall meet again

No Keg of Nails, no Governor's Cup, no revenge on Syracuse or Connecticut, the first three-game losing streak in 11 years, and a last place spot in the lowly Big East.

Louisville football needs a hug...or whatever else you're willing to offer...just a hug? That's cool.

Who is surprised?

The only people that are surprised by the Cards losing to ANYBODY are those that cant stop themselves from blindly supporting the “coach” just because he heads the team. This season is another embarassment.

Thank God UK basketball sucks to take the sting away.

He Hate UK

Shoot Me

In the Face!!! Aghhhh man I really do not even know what to say at this point, but what could have been. So many dropped passes tonight, and penelties in the second half probably kept us from winning this one. Oh yeah and the fact we have the worst 3rd down defensive stand percentage in the world. I am making that up by the way but man it sure felt that way last night.

An open letter to Krags with only one exclamation mark

Dear Koach,
I’m not sure if you saw the conference standings this morning, but we’re a wide smokin’ open 1-4. That’s good enough for tied for last in the Big East. Oh, what’s that you say? Syracuse beat us too. Awesome.

I appreciate the effort. Really. I saw you get excited on a couple plays last night, so I know you’re trying and I know you care. But seriously, WVU coming up? Why not go ahead and take the rest of the year off. We have basketball to take our minds off the heartbreak now. We’ve moved on. Just like that old girlfriend you’ve kept around because there’s nothing better in your life. Well a hot chick just walked in the door, and her name is UofL basketball. And Koach, don’t even think about showing up at a basketball game to remind us of you. You will be rightly escorted out of Freedom Hall…. which is probably still closer to the court than where my season tickets are. Zing!

We have nothing to hang our hat on this year, and it hurts deeply. I think Brian Kelly said it best: “It’s not much of a rivalry when you don’t beat the other team. We need to make this a rivalry.” That can be said for UCONN, UK, WVU, Syracuse, and it looks like we’re working on some other anti-rivalries as we speak.

You said it kid.
I would like to thank this Blog for giving me the opportunity to express my feelings about absolutely nothing important, written with poor grammar, and yet still have people read it.

I'm back to Meh

After the UConn game it hurt, after the Syracuse and Pitt games it was anger and shame, after watching the same awful decisions on crucial plays again and again (bolen draw on 3rd and 23! sneak on 4th and 2!) and seeing the end of the season mercifully coming close, I’m back to “meh”.

Kragthorpe sucks. We have some good, young talented skill players. UK lost to VMI. Basketball season is starting. Life goes on. Eventually it will turn around.

CardsFan922, where is that post you made after the UK game

that was well thought out at the timr

and has pretty well summed up this season?

by frankpos on Nov 15, 2008 10:04 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

To be honest

I joined the planet of “meh” right after the UK loss. I was pleased with the K State and USF games, but I was still not emotionally invested. I’m just sorta resigned to the situation.

Unreasonable Pain

There is absolutely no reason that, even after another know-it’s-going-to-happen loss, it still hurts so bad – even the morning after. The emotion involved with football is so difficult to deal with, especially when we root for a team/school that always seems to be having to prove that we’ve arrived. The week-long build-up coupled with agonizing wait between plays and sets-of-downs makes it even harder.

I find myself wanting to hate this coach for the bad decisions he makes and for the stupid looks on his face, and place all my sadness at his feet – but it just doesn’t help.

It occured to me that our football status has now sunk so low that teams no longer rush the field when the beat us. The whole rebuilding thing sounds isn’t a great thought either, given the MAJOR programs that have been “rebuilding” for years (Miami, FL State, Notre Dame, Michigan…….). How much longer will it take a program like ours?

I hate this.

Handshake

Kragthorpe said he did shake Kelly’s hand. As for next season, I don’t see more than four wins right now. Next year is going to be an angry mess of hate between the fans and Jurich/Kragthorpe.

another unnecessary loss....

too bad. We had the game and it’s too bad we couldn’t close. Anyone who reads my pitiful blogs knows that I bleed Cardinal red – am I still devastated about our season?? Not really – I just found out that the baby daughter of friends of ours died and three more friends of ours found out they have cancer this week – losing a college football game? That’s nothing. U of L football will rise from the ashes and there is a chance (don’t shoot me) that Koach could win next year and win big. Someone in a prior post mentioned Krag getting fired up on the sidelines during the game; I saw that and couldn’t believe it. He DOES have some fire in his belly after all. Did anyone notice that Kelly didn’t have the class to shake the losing coach’s hand? I know that they had words about UC gathering around our Cardinal on the field but come on – he should be bigger than that and for the sake of his university he should have found Koach and shook his hand. I’m just sayin’ Always and ever – Go CARDS! P.S. anybody know how Victor Anderson is doing? Or as Paul Rodgers called him Michael Vick? Sheesh.

Stuff

1. So UofL is headed for last place in the Big East and will lose the “tiebreaker” to Syracuse. Dream big!

2. Anyone else getting sick of the “arguments” every game about something happening on the Cardinal bird? I mean, seriously, the same story over and over again?

Dont fret

If anyone knows about rebuilding a program and going through growing pains its me… Your team will be fine and they will once again be one of the players for a league title… Give Krag some time before you throw him under the bus? Losing 21 scholarshsp players would be tough on ANY program… Your team played fired up football for the whole game… Kelly tried to give you the game by going for it on our own 29 on fourth and one… Keep your heads up fellas… At least you have a chance at a league title in BB… WIsh I could say the same!

by bearcat20 on Nov 15, 2008 1:42 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

class post....

without a tinge of smirking like other anti-UL people who come over to blog. You guys outplayed us and earned that keg – congratulations. We are hoping for more than a league title in BB though – maybe a national crown????

Kragthorpe...

should be gone if we end up finishing the last four games 0-4. I thought there was no way he would be fired this year. BUT if we continue to set new records for the wrong things, it going to take more then he’s got to win enough fans back. We just had out first three game skid in a long time, who’s HONESTLY going to doubt that we wont be looking at our first three year losing season streak after next year????

The play calling is very strange. It had to be a mistake that Bolen got the carry on the late third down (the same one Bozich wrote about in the CJ). Why are we going Houston Nutt in the first quarter and then Charlie Stubbs in the fourth?Too much I want to say really.

The silver lining? Ron English has got to come back now.

by bradlm on Nov 15, 2008 3:45 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Im a fan on English as I've

said numerous times we should can krapthorpe and offer him the job…

but can we get our defensive players to not miss 83 tackles a game?
