Cards crack top five in first basketball preview mag

Talking about college basketball right now is sort of like covering a congressional race in Idaho on the night of the presidential election. Still, the first preview magazine of the new season has hit the book stores, and news is news.

Lindy's Sports Annuals released its 2007-2008 NCAA basketball preview issue on Wednesday, and Louisville is ranked as the No. 5 team in the country. The Cards are one spot ahead of conference foe Georgetown, and further ahead of perennial rivals Marquette and Kentucky, which come in at No. 13 and No. 21 respectively.

The publication says that Ben Howland's UCLA squad is the team to beat this year.
