The Kentucky women's team really doesn't like the Louisville women's team
Written while under the influence of a magical Christmas Flu
If you're a casual fan looking for a reason to pay attention to tonight's women's basketball game between Kentucky and Louisville, first-year UK head coach Matthew Mitchell has you covered.
"I hate Louisville," Mitchell said during the pregame press conference. "I don't like anything about them. I am looking forward to the game because you're just wanting to go in and beat them real bad."
Nice.
Of course last year it was starting center and Berea native Sarah Elliott who said: "I couldn't watch when I was younger because I hated Louisville so much," Elliott said. "I feel that way more now. You always have that one team you can't stand."
Again, that's an awfully strong word being bandied about.
Elliott, now a senior still looking for her first win over the Cards, was a bit more reserved this year. "A win would be great, but the fact that it's Louisville would make it even better," she said. "It's really important to us seniors; we don't want to go out without beating them."
Can't say I'd mind it if Angel scored 100.
Go Cards.
