Bobby Petrino to Arkansas

Are you kidding me Bob? You couldn't have waited just one more year? Unbelievable.

If the SMU stuff hadn't gotten out...

how can you trust
this guy if your at Arkansas...if the auburn job opens up, theres no way you can listen to him and believe what he says if he declines it

I wonder about the SMU factor as well
If SK went to SMU, would BP have made nice with TJ and tried to come back here for his family? Would TJ have let him? This was my first thought when I heard the news (well after a brief stunned silence).

We wouldn't have had our underwhelming record
if BP was at the helm this season. We may not have made it to the BCS, but we sure as shit wouldn't have looked so lost for so much of the season. IMO, we wouldn't have lost to UK, Syracuse (at HOME!), Utah, or UConn.

After a few hours of reflection
I have concluded that BP may be mentally ill. I really wish him well, and I hope is family is on board with this latest move. But with rumors flying that his marriage may be breaking up and his two youngest kids returning to the Ville, I genuinely think the man may have lost his mind. I understand that he wanted to return to the college game, but why in the HELL did he quit before the end of the season? I mean, it's not like Arkansas wouldn't have waited for him to finish the NFL season. This just doesn't make sense.

He's always been flaky and a liar, but this decision seems downright nutty. What's he gonna do if Les Miles goes to Michigan and the LSU job becomes vacant? Leave Arkansas?

Good luck to Arkansas. They got a FANTASTIC coach, and they should enjoy him as long as he stays.

More dime store psychology...
After watching BP's introduction as the new HC at Arkansas on ESPNews, I have a new theory about this whole saga. Perhaps BP left Atlanta in such a rush because his wife gave him an ultimatum. She told him to go back to the college game so she and the kids could live a (more) stable existence or she and the kids would leave.

Yeah, I pulled that right out of my ass, but it seems reasonable if you look at the other pieces of the puzzle. Well, I definitely got that kind of vibe watching the presser.

Divorce
They already filed for divorce, did they not?
Kentucky fans are bitches.

Beats me
I just read the same rumors you probably do at ITV. My guess is no. If they already filed for divorce, I doubt his wife and kids would have been at the Arkansas press conference.

i'd rather have krags
How big of a douche do you have to be to sit in atlanta in january and say ,i think this is the greatest org. in football, and then walk out on them before the seasons even over with? How big of a jerk do you have to be to coach a team on mnf,and then quit on them on tuesday??I for one would rather have krags anyday!!He'll turn things around next year.
CARDS RULE!!BRONCOS RULE!!MIKE CASSITY SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED RIGHT AFTER THE KY GAME!!!

Bobby the Snake
I wish I could say I was shocked. I, too, entertained thoughts of him coming back and both parties just acting like the past year didnt happen. But then I remembered how much I loathe this man. And to an SEC team no less. Well, thats what he wanted, anyway. Just had to take a detour through Atlanta. At least Atlanta was doomed to mediocrity from the beginning. This was supposed to be our Championship year. Fucking cocksucker. Im sorry, Ive had a couple drinks and just found out about this. Can we get a home and home w/ Arkansas? The boos in the Oven that day would blow away anything Krags has ever heard.

Pat Forde
wrote an awesome column. Pretty much stating the obvious if you're a Cards fan, but its good for everyone on a national level to recognize this guy's true douche-iness.

I don't know if I want him back
The last football season made me yearn for BP back. All I could remeber is how prepared his teams looked and the passion that his players had. However, the last 24 hours have made me remember what a self-centered dickhead he is (oh yeah, and boring, too). I don't want SK, mind you, but I don't know that I would want BP back. I really think he has a screw loose after this latest incident.

Well
I tell you what.  I find it very funny and amusing.  I really laughing at this.  I'm glad he's not here any more.  He did good things here at U of L, but I wonder if he is the type of coach that can build a consistent, winning program.  I'm mean we lost 45 of his recruits for various reasons.  Yeah he got Brohm and Bush to stay at home, and some how got Peanut to come here, but those are pretty much his best recruits.  I'm just not so sure.

Good luck down there in Arkansas.  That's a marriage made in heaven.  BP's ego and Arkansas's unwarranted visions of grandure.

Go Cards!

cant you make a commitment
Damn Petrino just when I was starting to get over the fact that you left us and we could have been champs this year, and started supporting you as a coach in Atlanta you go and pull something like. At least louisville isnt the only place that thinks your a douche now. I def never want him back now.

A fitting close
To what has undoubtedly been a bizarre (App St.), disappointing (Cards), and at times hurtful (St. X), season of football.
