Open Thread: Louisville vs. Rutgers

In my mind, we have the best quarterback, the best receiver, and the best kicker in the country. I'm being completely honest when I say I wouldn't trade Brian Brohm, Harry Douglas or Art Carmody for anyone else in college football who plays their position. These guys, and all the seniors, deserve a win tonight.

It really does seem like just a couple weeks ago we were talking about what we saw at the first couple days of practice, and now it's coming to such an abrupt end. Maybe it's just because we're so unused to not having a postseason, but I've never felt this strange heading to a Louisville game.

Tonight will be surreal

Senior day is always a little bittersweet, but I can't think of the last one I went to where we didn't have another game to play (never in basketball - except the one probation year, and I don't think I made it for Cooper's last game).

I suppose this ranks up there with Crum's last regular season game against Memphis where I couldn't wait for the terrible season to end, but I so didn't want to see Denny's last game. Brian, Harry, Art, and rest deserve our best tonight, though, because they've given it to us for 4 incredible seasons.

And now the comparison is even better

How perfect was it to see Denny beat Memphis in his last hurrah? And considering the terrible year, is there a better ending than for Brian to connect with Harry to set up a last second field goal for Art against the team that ruined our perfect season? And it was the same way they beat us? Perfect.

This is awful. Am I seeing a prescreening of Will Smith's new movie about the zombies? Because that's what we look like...a bunch of zombies.

Even ESPN is rubbing it in. "more interested in standing by the heaters than the game"

I hope to hell Brohm isn't really hurt. He sure was limping. I sure didn't like the look of that hit; Brohm was all twisted and I thought "Oh Jesus, his knee!" Fuck!

after another absolutely abysmal start

How many game do we win this season

if we didn't spot most opponents a 14 or more point first qtr lead

if maybe Bilal was allowed to have some touches before the end of the season

Thank you for allowing me to see the greatest hometown QB of my generation

play for the school I love

and lead it to an amazing comeback victory

Thank you seniors for the great memories you have given me.

I was very upset to see so many people had left at half time. It was our seniors last game, tough it out.

Other than that I am in heaven right now. At least we don't have a sour taste of a loss to live with until next season. I'm also glad all our seniors got to pull off a W to end their career.

Hary Douglas, Brian, and Art for president

Bilal for Vice ;) He will be a monster for the next couple years.

I have faith our team will rebound. Time to head to bed for now though, have to be up for work in 4 hours.
