Poor Peanut
God this season has been a disaster

The joy of being on ESPNU...
Has Mike Gottfried had a stroke or something? He's giving Lou Holtz a real run for most difficult commentator to listen to (speech impediment division).

by bartenpa on Nov 17, 2007 8:04 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Oh, the joy continues...
The ESPNU crew expect this game to be a 'a real shootout, ending in a real barnburner'.... uh, yeah... when was the last time we put up enough points against a good defensive team to call it a 'shootout'?

by bartenpa on Nov 17, 2007 8:07 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

WHY IS TRENT GUY STILL RETURNING KICKS!?
Honestly, he's shown several time he doesn't have solid hands, why the hell do we keep putting him in this position... What a great start.

GIVE BILALPOWELL THE FUCKING BALL
I hate this, I absolutely hate this.

by Mike Rutherford on Nov 17, 2007 8:25 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I'm right here with you Mike..
He's lost the fucking team, they're playing like someone peed in their cheerios, they just don't care anymore... Steve is a damn cancer, please please please SMU, take him off our hands, because Tom Jurich has no interest in firing him...

by bartenpa on Nov 17, 2007 8:45 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Fuck this
If our head coach is going to stand on the sidelines and not say a fucking word while we look worse than we have since before my voice changed, then I'm not going to care anymore.

by Mike Rutherford on Nov 17, 2007 8:46 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Bilal just got a touch....
And it's sad that the announcers can't pronounce his name, it show that they had no idea who he was, because Kragthorpe hasn't done nearly enough to get him touches this season.

Too little to late, get this joker out of here!!!

It's too bad we had a basketball game today...
Because Louisville fans have a vivid image of what a well coached team looks like, and this football team is the exact opposite.

by bartenpa on Nov 17, 2007 8:50 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

awful
Watching at a friends house so I didn't think I'd be able to comment. But this is so bad I had to do something.

Every part of the game we suck at.

And all of.a sudden powell gets 5 touches in a row.

Fuck. Anyone going to jackson st tomorrow? I'm excited.

One good thing:
I'm getting a grim satisfaction from this game. If getting our shit handed to us up and down the field like this doesn't get K fired, nothing will. There is NO justification for getting beaten like this.

Posted this on C-J's blog:
I've been trying to take the longview of the season, like letting him try to get his players in, etc... but honestly, at this point, we're getting embarrassed in one way or another EVERY GAME... he looks like he's completely lost the team, they are playing with absolutely no fire at all...

He needs the axe, not because of his record this season, but because he has shown no flexibility or ability to adapt to the situation he is in. My worst fear is that TJ won't let Krag go... this is why you cannot let your AD have a personal relationship with your coach.

But
We're lining up properly.

by Mike Rutherford on Nov 17, 2007 9:21 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Wow.
Those poor kids. No one with talent and a choice of schools should have play under such a god-awful coaching staff. They play too hard to be so poorly coach.

The one bright spot
Is that I can now get my Christmas shopping done on-line during games.  Last season I was, like, emotionally involved in the games and hung on every play.  Now I can double task.  Very nice.

True Story
Just took the AOL weekly news quiz. Got 12-of-20. Pretty pleased.

It's like we can see the future...
Slant pattern to, guess who, Mario Urrutia for a TOUCHDOWN!! Oh, wait, it was for USF? ah well, who could have predicted that, anyway?

by bartenpa on Nov 17, 2007 9:44 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

scott long
As much trouble as everyone gives mario for his hands, and as excited as we were about scott long preseason, long sure doesn't make a lot of catches.

This is bad.

by CardsFan922 on Nov 17, 2007 9:59 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I don't have to tell you things are bad.
Everybody knows things are bad. It's a lsoing season. Punks are running wild in the street and there's nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there's no end to it. We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat, and we sit watching our TV's while some ESPNU broadcaster tells us that today we had fifteen personal foul penalties and sixty-three missed tackles, as if that's the way it's supposed to be.

We know things are bad - worse than bad. They're crazy. It's like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don't go out anymore. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we are living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, 'Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my steel-belted radials and I won't say anything. Just leave us alone.' Well, I'm not gonna leave you alone. I want you to get mad! I don't want you to protest. I don't want you to riot - I don't want you to write to your athletic director because I wouldn't know what to tell you to write. I don't know what to do about the penalties and the play-calling and the losses and the Russians. All I know is that first you've got to get mad.

You've got to say, "I'm a fan, Goddamnit! My life has VALUE!" So I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell: 'I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!'

I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell - 'I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Things have got to change. But first, you've gotta get mad!... You've got to say, 'I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!'

by Mike Rutherford on Nov 17, 2007 10:11 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I was mad, but
that just ruined my day without changing the coaching at all.  Thank goodness that we looked solid in basketball today.

by 83fan on Nov 17, 2007 10:31 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I need to watch 'Network'...
Because I had no idea where you came up with that. In other news, what kind of chance do you think UL has at hiring Lloyd Carr? Am I sounding like a UK fan all of a sudden, would Lloyd Carr wipe his ass with Louisville football?

by bartenpa on Nov 17, 2007 10:15 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Sweet.
Coach is on it.  "We need to cut down on the big plays, and get the ball in the endzone."  Somehow I think that was the extent of the halftime talk, along with a couple of "Let's go, guys."

By the way, the sideline reporter is hot, but she ain't so good at her job.

by 83fan on Nov 17, 2007 10:26 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

espnu
they are out doing themselves with this awful broadcast.  the 9 minute conversation with the big east official while semi-important stuff is going on on the field. Why is this guy still talking. Who the fuck cares?

by CardsFan922 on Nov 17, 2007 10:45 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Ha Ha
You said "semi-important stuff is going on on the field."  You must have missed the first half.  When you have to fill 1 1/2 hours of irrelevant football, you get desperate.  I'm surprised they didn't ask him what his favorite tailgate food was.

I had to run away
from the tv party

an angry spit-fest at

the final ultimate melt-down

you think these players have heard the SMU rumor this week

the few who tried to believe in all this coaching stupidity i'm sure felt they were just playing the fools for this clown who may  bolt anyway

by frankpos on Nov 17, 2007 11:00 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Sigh
Basketball makes me happy.  Football does not.
Go Cards!

by JMC on Nov 17, 2007 11:15 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

It will be interesting what the crowd will do at
the Rutgers game after this obvious psychological meltdown and humiliation.

My thinking is that there will be no boo's or just a scattering--unless/until it is apparent we are going to lose.

then the boo's will rain down

and i will definitely be one of the loudest

my most disappointing yr in U of L football BY FAR since 1972-- and that's saying a hell of a lot

by frankpos on Nov 17, 2007 11:20 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Kragthorpe is lucky
The fans will - and should - be respectful solely because it will be the last time they'll ever be able to see Brian Brohm in a Louisville uniform.

Otherwise, it would be ugly.

by Mike Rutherford on Nov 17, 2007 11:35 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

You watch
if we start losing, it will be real ugly I think

I and others had become resigned

but we became really, really mad again tonight

by frankpos on Nov 17, 2007 11:39 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

even the announcers have given up...
10 minutes left in the 4th quarter, and the terrible ESPNU announcers aren't even calling many of the plays!  hah   Don't know that I blame them...

by cmb on Nov 17, 2007 11:24 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Cherry on fucking top
SF pass to 1 yd, fumble, and Bulls recover for touch down

Even Cantwell in-- why not?

Everyone given up, gone home, switched channels

by frankpos on Nov 17, 2007 11:34 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

The worst loss since......
My choice.... the 1997 ass whipping we took from Penn State in old Cardinal Stadium.  The last year of the Ron Cooper era.

This just in.  SMU officials deny they have any interest in Louisville's Coach K.  They are concerned he will destroy their program.

by RB in Bardstown on Nov 17, 2007 11:36 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

WHAT THE FUCK MORE
DOES BILAL POWELL HAVE TO DO???

I honestly think that Krag hasn't been playing him because he think he'll be criticized for not playing him the whole year if he tears it up.

I've been drinking.

by Mike Rutherford on Nov 17, 2007 11:38 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Powell!
Powell looks verrrrry good.

Where the f$%@! has he been all year?

I really think this is enough to get krag fired.

by CardsFan922 on Nov 17, 2007 11:40 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

It was perfect because
it was the only way we could actually do something good that would make me even more angry.

by 83fan on Nov 17, 2007 11:50 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I just watched Bilal make that back-cut
after the reception, and I no longer wanted Kragthorpe fired...I wanted to punch him in the face as hard as I could.

by Mike Rutherford on Nov 17, 2007 11:53 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Powell's a shoe-in for Heismann
in a couple seasons, at whichever school he transfers to from U of L.

Who was the first guy with a mohawk????
ESPNU sucks!

At least all are games will be on Saturdays next season.

by RB in Bardstown on Nov 17, 2007 11:43 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I year after winning the fucking Orange Bowl
to see your team be humiliated and give up

on national tv

I never thought I'd see that kind of low again in U of L football

by frankpos on Nov 17, 2007 11:45 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

ESPNU Announcing...
Who the hell are these guys, they sound like a couple of drunks they dragged in off the street! The origins of a mohawk? Who the hell cares?! There's a murder of a football game going on, we know, but at least pretend to call it. So. Angry. Must. Kill. Kragthorpe. (joke, I don't need to go to jail)

by bartenpa on Nov 17, 2007 11:45 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

There's an ugly part of me that wants
Rutgers to run all over us

that we start out slow again

that our players give up again

maybe then, then somehow, someway K will be gone

by frankpos on Nov 17, 2007 11:50 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Agree
That morbid has crossed my mind... I'd rather be humiliated one more week than be frustrated for X years while we wait for Kragthorpe to get his lame duck ass out.

by bartenpa on Nov 17, 2007 11:54 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

And Baby Jesus wept
I salute you guys for watching tonight. I simply did not have the intestinal fortitude to do more than monitor it from afar, i.e., getting somewhat regular updates throughout the game. What a shitty, nasty, embarassing mess. I will, however, contribute to SMU's athletic fund if it means getting rid of that man on our sidelines with the clipboard down his pants and the clueless look on his face.

Two tears in a bucket, motherfuck it!

Hey, at least the basketball team ...
made the top 10 plays on Sports Center.  #3 for all the threes, they played them all. awesome

video
can we get a video of said Top 10 plays maybe?

Y'know, it takes a lot to get the old farts
in the B & W seats to cheer, much less boo

(I know, I am one)

But at the Syracuse game, I saw men in their 50's and 60's

leaders of our community

get liquored up pretty good

and let fly with boos and obscenities

(I was one)

The liquor will flow more liberally than ever pre-game for Rutgers I assure you...

by frankpos on Nov 18, 2007 12:19 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Now that is some good coaching
The two timeouts in the last 12 seconds of the game.... down 38 points.  What in the hell is K thinking?

In case anyone was wondering, "COACHING MATTERS".
