Timeouts in College Basketball

So I was watching my first college basketball game of the season (Oklahoma/Memphis) and witnessed (again) something that drives me absolutely bonkers about basketball (especially college):  the use of timeouts in a tight situation.

It's amazing how there is no symmetry between college football and basketball.  In college football, teams are allotted only 3 TOs per half and guys like Krag figure out ways to mismanage TOs (ie, UK, UConn and WVU games) sometimes costing them the game.  In college basketball, teams have an infinite amount of timeouts (6?) which are used when (i) a guy gets trapped, (ii) a guy is diving for the ball on the floor and (iii) a guy is flying out of bounds (recently changed, we'll see if it works).

I'm just sick of guys getting bailed out in a jam with a TO.
