My questions for Mike, Blocky, CardsFan and
1) What were we doing differently on D--rushing & secondary-- that the results changed overnight?
2)Is Brian being allowed to do his own play calling?
3)How did K and others do on coaching? It seems he is still running 3rd down pass routes 5 short of 1st down markers, using time outs too soon, getting O plays and D players on the field too slow, etc.
But he won big time --so some improvement?
Or, are Brian and Harry just carrying the team --and Koaches on their backs thru sheer guts and brilliance?

Honestly
And the in-laws were over for most of the second half, so I couldn't really focus.
From what Mike said, we just played defense like a normal team -- which is a huge change for us. And that Cinci did not run the ball at all.
From what I saw, I think we switched to a 4-2-5 with woodny, council, bobby b, raglin, and russell out there, and no malik. Even with that change, people still seemed to get open.
Also it looked like we were actually in man coverage, which is a big difference from what we were doing before.
Sustainable? I hope so. I never thought we could hold Cinci to just 24 points, but we managed to. I hate to rely on turnovers since that is not something you can really count on. But in our road wins, we took the ball away and Brohm held onto it.
Also, the play calling is still terrible.
But again that's from a very passive viewing of the game.
I would be interested in hearing someone else's analysis of the game.

I can't give you a deatiled analysis
Frankly, I don't think our secondary will be good this year because they are too inexperienced. When you also factor in the disruption of the coaching changes, it's no wonder they frequently look lost and miss assignments. I do believe, though, that they will improve.

I also agree about the play calling

Playcalling
But I don't like the fact that we abandon the run for long stretches. With AA and Bolen, we should have pounded the ball down Cincy's throat after we gained the lead. We won so that's all that matters.
